So have seen some gelato #41 flower fetching big numbers in the northeast. I was telling my boy the legit gelato is all the same strain, and the numbers #33(Larry bird) #41(bacio) #43(gello) #47(mochi) #49(acai) are just different pheno that were labeled by jigga and sherbinski (you guys like that shit? I know most of the nicknames, just had to keep looking at my notes while typing this out, lol, I can't remember all this fucking hype shit^)... also one that doesn't get mentioned alot but #25- grew a cross of that one and it came out great.
Anyways I can get some legit cuts of Gelato and was wondering if there really is a big difference in pheno expression among the gelato #...my thoughts are there is with taste in my experience. Other than that, looks wise/bag appeal(said it before and will say it again) all the gelato #s look very, similar to me. Up in the air about snagging cuts of the #33 #43 #45 #47 and #49. I have grown some #33 in crosses and it was always my fav, favorite 33 cross was hands down dvg purple jellato, shit was insane fire.

#33 is much different than #47 aka mochi in both bud structure and terps. 47 was stronger too.

These were cuts from purple city genetics
Damn ya I love #33, always found it a mellow tasty mellow smoke, very colorful buds. Your pcg 33 is fire dude. Fucking A+++. I was leaning towards the mochi because I have had 33 a decent amount.

Mochi is a great cut. I Got it from purple city genetics at emerald cup 2019. She’s stable, potent flavorful and puts out rocks for buds. Only knock against her would be yield maybe.
What would she throw for yields for you on average?I'd be rocking cuts in 5 gal fabric pots, ideal environment- sealed room with minisplit ac, c02 with 4630w of hid...cmh/MH and HPS. Vegged a month n half- 2 months. T5s for veg

Yields is why I feel you see more of the Larry bird floating around, 33 seems to yield decently. Either yields are exceptionally better than when cookies first starting getting coming around about 10 years ago. Sunset sherbert on its own yields well.

I am particularly fond of #33 since it has that strong Kush vibe to it, but I also like #43 since it is specially OG like. However #45, I find it to be similar to GSC, very much a Bubba like smoke, unlike #47 which has that Chemdawg member berries flavor going on. But my faves is #49 with a very indica leaning high!

Hmmm... the joy of the great american couch-lock life-style!

Think you got those last 2 mixed up bud...49 acai gelato is know has more of a sativa pheno and the 47 mochi is more indica pheno. Though I don't think any gelatos are going to give you a soaring sativa high. Funny you said something about couch-lock high and musicians, I've been eyeing a charcoal burst prs electric guitar...prs makes some fucking beautiful/great guitars!
I also really like #33 as most do, it's definitely a tried and true gelato, that is relatively NOT to finicky. One thing you can't deny about legit gelatos is- when grown properly gelato's bag appeal is top notch. I do have good friends/long time growers that are not big fans of gelatos-thinking they are hype buds that are all the same, look fire but very bland smoke. They love their chem /sours and ogs and where I do see where they are coming from, I can't deny that gelato's are absolute fire and truly do have that wow factor and have for years now. People love gelatos dudes!

The 47/mochi for was not berry flavored but more fuel. Didn't get the typical gelato type terps but almost sandalwood fuel. Definitely tasty still. Pretty potent indica style buzz.

But 33 was straight up sunset sherbert type flavor, very tasty. With a bigger yield over mochi but mochi is still a decent yield at about average for cookies strain.

Great thread! I just started started my seed collection last year and already might have too many gelato hybrids but I can’t wait to pop all of them. Anybody know why sherb doesn’t feature the 25, 33 and others on their site? is it because they were cookie fam releases?

Hey wanted to pop this thread up again...wanted to see if anyone has grown a gelato/45 or 45 cross. Not to much info on this.
Have to say I'm loving gelato/41 bacio lately. Shit is fire!

Definitely not a lot of info out there on the 45 but I read somewhere that it's the most potent of the cuts so I'm assuming it's more cookies dominate.

So wanted to dig this thread up to talk about what some of your thoughts are on what are the best yielding gelatos. I'm talking gelato and gelato crosses.

From growing myself and researching I'd have to say gello/gelato 43 yields very well and does well when thrown in a cross. Clearwater genetics crosses gello with their maitai and creamsicle and I've seen them pull some impressive yields. Now for me- I'd have to say gelato 41 has treated me well in the yield dept...as well as being absolutely fire, the gelato 41 leaning cross I recently grew thew yields and had an absolutely killer stank to it. When curing in food/safe buckets and burping, the smell would engulf my house to the point you could smell it outside. I also love gushers which is 41 x tk(I love me some tk). I ran a gushers strain recently and it came out phenomenal, literally great in every aspect-checked all my boxes.

I haven't really run to much mochi/47 or acai/49 but in the past have run mochi in a cross. I believe mochi is also a pretty good yielder as seen with nosoesoteric pics above. Feel free to give your thoughts on mochi and acai/49, I've seen some great runs of 49 and they seem to yield decent as well. I have a cw mochi cross with creamsicle/Mochisicle I look foeard to running.

That brings me to 33, I love 33....33 by itself and in a cross. 33 can yield pretty well but probably isn't the best. Some of the above can take 33 in terms of potency but Larry bird cut as always been an A+ looker to me. I also love the nose on 33 and the way 33s bud purps out. Some of you know dvg purple jellato is my favorite 33 cross. I don't know if the purple vapor in the cross but damn this strain is strong. It's just a face melting, couch lock indica high the truly gets you stoned.

Anyways just wanted to bring up some gelato talk since I feel they have been so prevalent in my garden in the past few years and will be for years to come. O ya>don't forget gelato 25!

One of my truffle pigs (gelato 41 x maitai) is a real chunker and that's out of three I popped. Lots of frost and color too
Ya I'm liking what clearwater is doing and did with their earlier strains, crossing most of the gelatos to their creamsicle and maitai. They have so many. I do want to find some dank nice yielding phenos in my next packs. The mochisicle, gushers and cream and even maltmilkshake(dosi x creamsicle >even though this one isn't a gelato) would be my picks for yielders in the packs I have. Going to run a creamsizzle as well cause that strain sounds fire.

So gelato 43 is gello correct. Sorry sometimes all these fucking gelato #s make my head hurt. Reason I ask is someone was trying to tell me otherwise
