Anyone want to play the game? (Guess which one!)

Belated greetings RIU! After several setbacks due to life and circumstances I am finally ready for my first harvest, or so I think! These 2 girls were grown under a 400w electronic ballast (MH veg, HPS flower) in homemade 5gal DWC buckets using Lucas formula and RO water (and you can see the Cal/Mg spots as a result of it - a lesson learned for next grow!) The reservoirs were never drained, H202 was used to help clean the water occaisionally. Water temps stayed pretty consistently around 67-70F and ambient temps were 75ish.

The genetics are 1x feminized Dinafem White Siberian and 1x feminized Dinafem Critical+. According to my logs they were put in water on 1/8/12, planted on 1/10/12 under 2x26W (true watts) blue CFLs - one per plant), then put into the buckets and 30 days of veg later, switched to flower on 2/9/12. They are now on day 60 of flower, give or take a day or two for showing sex. The strains tend to be 55-65 day strains and it looks accurate, to me. Of course I've done research on pistils, calyxes, and trichomes. Right now the plants exhibit 50%+ red hairs, upwards of 75-80% on some buds. Trichome color is probably 5-10% amber, 70-75% milky, 10-15% clear. Rough guesses of course. The plants themselves are approx 34" and 30" respectively. They each have ~20+ bub filled branches and main colas are ~10" each and 2-3" across (they are dense, rock hard and big around as a half full paper tower roll.

Ready or not? Well, here I come. I pretty much need to cut them tonight to have time to trim, manicure and hang to dry before tomorrow. Anyone want to play guess the yield?

These buds are larger than golfballs, and just as dense and hard as one. If you got an ice cream cone where the large scoop on top was golfball sized and turned it upside down, you'd have these buds.. or at least their size.

No help from the awesome RIU community? Or is everyone too full and baked to get online today?

They look ready to me. How do the trichs look?

If anything, maybe a couple more days, as they look like they could swell a TINY bit more.


O YA: very rough guess here, but those nugs look very dense. I say 2-3 oz per plant

The trichs are a little bit amber, mostly milky, and a few clear. They all have huge bulbous heads on the glands and I can practically see a swirling motion in the milky orbs lol.

And yeah, even the lower buds that got very little direct light are super hard. They can't even be squeezed tighter than they are without smashing it (not that I did that!). I can count at least 20+ branch tops that are just like these extra large golfballs. Harvest pics will be coming later!

Well perhaps we should have played a different game. The one called 'takes 8 hours to trim 2 plants and you'll be up until 7am and then have to go work!'

Yeah, it was the most amazing torture ever. Just hate getting old. My thumb is swollen and numb, my arm is on fire and my shoulder won't move. Just before chop-chop. Plant is 3' tall (not counting bucket).


And just after. Wound up with like 2 dozen branches each plant plus a ton of nugs below that were smallish or got clipped on accident.


Closet is 5' wide, 2 strings, 20+ branches on each. Hope I get a couple Os!

Lookin good bro was getting worried about you me and a friend are doing crittical+ outdoors this summer. I predict you'll get atleast 3 + oz after its all dried watch and see hit me up if you need someone to do a smoke test with you!!!! LOL!!!!

This cola here (the big branch) weighed 4oz on the dot wet so I'm hoping to get an O off of it alone.



And yeah, gimme a month to dry and cure and we'll see what's up.

Looking good brother did you get my pm? And wht strains are you running next? A friend and i are doing an outdoor grow this summer so far we have Critical+,SwampBud = MasterKush x WonderWoman x SuperSkunk, DarkRain#1 = DarkStar x PurpleRain, DarkRain#2 = DarkStar x PurpleRain x BlackRose, SourGum = Bubblegum x SourSkunk X BlackRose, and SourSkunk planted so far. And i say your gonna yield 3oz or better when your all dry.

I still got some crit+ and white beans left so I'll probably just play with those before ordering something new. I learned a lot last grow and think I can do better. These strains I have are sturdy and forgiving, I put them through hell learning hydro and they came out pretty well. For the summer I think I'll just go with what I have left in soil because of summer temps. Maybe this fall I'll order some super beans and do hydro again. It's a lot of freaking work though!

Some drying buds. Tomorrow I'll put them in paper bags until the weekend, then jar them.
Critical+:

White Siberian:

4 days of hang drying. Taking them down and paper bagging them for the last 2-3 days to even out the moisture before jarring them this weekend. Crit+ came up first. Overall I think this was a low yield. The seeds were free packs 5 fems, and I guess they were free for a reason. Smoke is tasty and potent, but the high is more up. Maybe harvested early but was comfortable within the window and trichs, pistils and calyxes suggested it was time. This is pretty dry, but not snapping dry. Just over 4 ounces like this, probably lose a half more? maybe 1oz. when I remove the stems. So.. 3 Oz from one plant, meh okay I guess for a first time!

This came in at over 5 Os.. it's a little moister than the crit, likely due to its density. Might need to leave it a day longer to dry before jarring. Probably lose another O to moisture/stems but should get a solid 4 from it. All told, between the 2 and popcorn buds I should clear 7 ounces off of 2 plants. Not bad for a first grow I guess.

Popcorn buds been in a jar for a day to cure as I smoke them up while the real buds cure long term.. and to be so small and useless they are really coming into their own. Super tasty, smelly, sticky, crystally and potent! It's leafy, airy buds but it makes GREAT joint material.. it's big, so like .1-.2 grams rolls a nice one and I can't even finish it lol... I'm so baked right now! Damn it's nice to be blazed on my own handiwork!
