Anyone using or have experience with a dual hose portable AC unit?

I hear the dual hose units are far more efficient at cooling than single hose units. In a nutshell I need a mini split, but I recently decided to replace my two 1000w HID's with two 660w qb's that are presently en route via express sea shipping from China. With this upgrade I think I can forego the mini split and continue operating with my portable AC unit, but I plan to run two 600w HID's in the room until funds allow them to be replaced for LED units. I will most likely have some trouble controlling temps in peak summer heat, and am wondering if a dual hose portable AC unit would operate and cool more efficiently than my present single hose unit which will allow me to save some $$ on avoiding the costs of the mini split hardware not to mention the labor to install the thing. If the dual hose unit does not provide a big difference then I'll just accept that I need to install a mini split to resolve the cooling issue in peak summer. Thanks for any advice.
