anyone use philips 42 watt compact fluorescents?

its hot where i live, and ive been using a 150w hps in a dr60 for my last few gardens. last time i got 4 plants with the hps. my problem is that its incredible warm now, and the tent is just getting too hot, even with inline fans running. ive been putting frozen gallon jugs of water in the tent just to keep the temp at 90 (which im aware is way too hot). so my question is this;

i bought a 2ft x 4 lamp cfl fixture, and im thinking of supplementing with a couple of these philips 42wat compacts around the plants. Im only attempting to grow two hindu kush ladies this time around. im just wondering if that set up will be sufficient to get my babies what they need?

thanks for any help.

Do you have exhaust towards the top to let the hottest air out? Are your 'frozen jugs directly in front of your existing fans?

imchucky,

i have an intake bringing air in at the bottom, and an exhaust at the top. i use frozen bottles on each side of the front and back corners across from each other. i live in florida, so its pretty hard to keep the temps down with the hps.

You'll have to turn your ac up or maybe use a cool tube and ducting to get the heat away from your plants. And Cfls still give off quite a bit of heat if you are having issues with that.
