Fairly well honestly. I've a lot of my free time helping noob growers over on the microgrowery the past 2 years. Their skillset depends entirely on how much they research before going in. I see some just nail it their first grow, and some probably can't tell their ass from a hole in the ground. The number one issue they have is not enough light. Which makes all kinds of other issues worse. If they had decent lights to begin with, their plants internal processes would go much faster so any issues manifest, and get fixed (once they fix them) much quicker. Plus most use blurples and cant even see their plants.

Light definitely is a factor.
IMO I find that there #1 problem is not light but is over watering followed by over fertilizing at least in soil where many noobs start.
If the light is to weak it will quickly show in the plant. If the light is not to weak to grow a healthy plant then it comes down to watering and fertilizing.
I'm not talking yield, I'm talking about a noob making it to harvest with weed that will give them a buzz and encourage them to continue growing as many never make it to harvest their 1st try.

Oh yea overwatering is a big one. Over fertilization too, but overwatering is what I see most. But that's why I said inadequate light is the biggest problem, because overwatering under lights with the right intensity is much less of a problem. Still very possible, but much less likely especially if they are HPS.

Many newbies overwater and then it turns into nutrient deficiencies, since the roots can't uptake anything. Then they dump nutes onto an overwatered plant that doesn't need them for several more weeks. And the cycle begins....

We have you pegged bro, your like that economics or shop teacher that knows the books well but hides at the university cause they just don't have what it takes to make it out in the real working world where results is the judge of success.

As I told you earlier, i'll be happy to once my seeds pop under my new setup. I will have a thread here in a couple of days. My friend who I am running the 4x4 with hasn't responded to me yet about pictures, but ill share them if he gives the green light. I mean he paid for the setup, i am just helping him learn to grow and I designed the light for it so i'm not gonna share his setup if he doesnt want me to. He did let me share this pic from a week or 2 ago though. Goji OG trichome shot.



Had a year long break from growing until 4 months ago. Sold the old setup, had plenty of time to plan out the new ones. And now im ready to go again. Was pulling some unheard of yields from my old shitty blurple LED panels before I tore that down. And that 4x4 grow is looking very heavy yield wise if I might say so myself. I expect even better in my 3x3.

also i remember my first grow 25+ years ago

quality was fantastic as it was one plant under a 150W HPS and i watched her obsessively

its really difficult for even an expert to scale something 10X with the same success yet alone a noob trying to stuff that kind of yield in a 5x5
