Anyone use Mars II LED?

I'm thinking about going with the 1600W model, and was wondering if anyone uses them? They seem like a fair price if the results are there. That's exactly what I'm looking for....some results, yields, pics, potency, etc.

Mars will get you by but I'm sure there are way better options. 1600 watts I bet is a false statement. More experienced people will tell you a better light to get.

I watched a video of a grow yielding one pound under this light. That's not too shabby for a crap light. Any recommendations for a light around $300-$500 that would be adequate for a 5x5 with 4 or 5 plants in 5 gal?

growing a pound is no measure of the lights efficiency or durability

i could grow a pound with 10000 birthday candles if i wanted to

1000 watt hps would be cheap and low end of budget. Diy led top end or more of budget.

I've been thinking about a 1000W. What kind of air conditioning would I need to cool the room during the summer? The tent is a 5x5, but the room is a 12x12. A low consumption air conditioner would be my first choice.

Air cool the hood and vent out of the room With a 6 or 8 inch fan. And see what your temps run at my room has a central air vent right into my room so my 1k ran around 82-84

A 1000w hps in a 5x5 tent in an aircooled hood is easy to keep cool without AC, unless ambient temps get above 80f.

Why not do a DIY LED strip build? You could get 900 watts using only 6 strips and it will absolutely blast a 5x5 tent with light. It wouldnt cost more than like $800 either. and it will last for many years,

900w of samsung strips would laugh at a 1000w HPS in yields. You could expect 3 to 4 pound harvests pretty damn easily.....

You gotta get real bruh, a noob could pull 3 lbs from that easily.

Here';s an old growmau5 video where he does a 1200w HPS vs. 1200w of cxa3070 cobs (last gen) mixed with a bml spydr 600. 1064 grams from the 1200w HPS, 1774 grams from the 1200w of last gen leds. And that's only the top shelf bud, zero popcorn larfy buds. Several of his strains are low yielders too.

Both his LEDs are an average of around 42% efficient after losses. The 6 sammy strips pushing 900w would be 50% efficiency after losses, and @Takeshy's insane 36 strip 900w build is pushing 55% efficiency after losses.

So it's seriously not rocket science to see how you can pull those yields dude. Stop pretending like it's some crazy unrealistic bullshit. 3 pounds from 900w of strips would be a cakewalk.

Care to demonstrate since you have the led's and clearly the knowledge??
Surely you'll be closer to the 4 units per 5x5 with your skill set, no?

I got nothing to show with my leds right now. Just got seeds planted. If I can convince my friend to let me take some pics of our 4x4 tent we're doing with strips that's in late flowering, ill post them here. But it's his setup, i just built his lights and giving him advice. I can say it's looking damn good. But I guess without those pics, those words dont mean shit.

I mean if you want something to look at, I got a 501 gram harvest from 400 w of chinese blurple leds from a 2x4x5' tent in my signature, mind you they are less efficient than HPS. 8 square feet is 1/4 of 25 square feet (5x5') so you do the math.

But i will be doing a grow log with the led strips here once my personal seedlings pop and i get things going.

Don't buy Mars, it's a ripoff.
You can easily get 1.5g/w with LED's. It isn't rocket science.

Those LED brands that aren't clear with their PPF/W shouldn't even be mentioned in a horticulture forum imho.
Watts and lumens doesn't measure what your plants need. This is a fact, not a theory.

Peace.

Lol. I guess achieving 1.33 grams per watt under super efficient LEDs is unheard of then? I pulled 1.25 grams per watt under chinese blurples, check my sig. The guy above you pulled nearly 4 pounds from 900w of leds his second grow.

But okay then. Ill take noob as a compliment.

I did not say you could not pull anything.
You said a noob could pull 3 lbs and that is not likely.
I think I know noobs much better than you and I do not think a noob can do what you are saying unless it is an exceptional case.
If you want to discuss noob strengths and weaknesses, I'd be happy too. I help them all the time. How well do you understand noob strengths and weaknesses?
