Anyone use jacks clone, bloom and finish formulas?

It seems like the special (blue colored) formulas for clone, bloom and finish never fully dissolve no matter how much mixing is done. I’ve even tried dissolving them in hot water first before adding them to my mix. Does anyone else have this issue?

How much are you trying to mix into how much water? There are solubility limits. Try mixing with a larger volume of water.

Buy a cheap magnetic stirrer and at least one lab quality glass beaker. It will dissolve. Especially if you use warm water.

Yes, I do this.

I’m mixing the appropriate grams per gallon of water.
I didn't mean the amount for the final solution. I meant the volume of water you're mixing into before adding into your mix.

For instance, I'll mix 5 gallons of nutrient solution using calcium nitrate, a micronutrient, and some MKP. I'll dissolve those separately in different containers and then add them to a bucket of water that has a small pond pump on the bottom to mix everything. I was assuming you were doing something similar. If that's the case you might be using the right amount per gallon but mixing it initially in too small of a volume of water for it all to dissolve.

If it says X grams per gallon and your trying to mix it in 2 cups of water before adding to your nutrient mix it might not dissolve completely.

I fill up a 5 gal bucket with water, mortar and pestle my Epsom salts with some gypsum, toss that in while i make sure the waters moving from me stirring, next some KSI (should add first) I keep the bucket water lightly moving whenever im adding powders. Next is 3-4 scoops of jacks right into the bucket, i stir it well, put my dash of kelp/fluvic in, ph er and I’m done. All takes maybe 10 mins tops. This is done with cold water.

Why mortar and pestle it first? It should dissolve fine in water, especially warm water.

I've been using MaxiBloom lately and when I first tried to mix the amount needed for 5 gallons in the same 12 oz water bottles I had been mixing seperate parts of the 3 part in it wouldn't dissolve all the way. I was dumbfounded until I remembered about solubility limits when mixing fertilizer. I used a gallon water jug for the same amount and it dissolved completely.

i bought a $9 blender at walmart for my powdered humic/kelp mix. it would work great on all those nutes too.

Oh ok yeah you may be right about that then because I just mix it into a cup. I’ll mix it into a bigger container first and try that.

thanks a lot!

It’s my first run using pure salts and it’s going great I was just wondering why it wouldn’t fully dissolve. I have no issues with the plants tho luckily.

I haven't used those products but depending on how many gallons you're making but if you're just mixing in a cup of water to make gallons you could be hitting the solubility limit for the volume of liquid you're using to mix before adding to the rest of the water. I like using a gallon water jug with a handle because it makes it easy to really shake it up.

I've made stock solutions of maxi gro/bloom using 64g / gallon; it takes a while, but it does completely dissolve. That seemed pretty close to the saturation limit and is conveniently about 10x strength and easy math.
