Anyone tried USB Fans?

Has anyone tried buying those USB fans?

I was wondering can you hack this like the way we can hack computer fans?
I bought 3 of these fans, however i wanna know if i can cut off the usb plug and connect the DC adapter to it or should I just buy a USB hub and attach it to it.

So is it possible to chop off the usb and connect it to the DC? If so do i require a 5V DC adapter, 1Amp? Because it says i require 5V DC + 1000mA +? (Is 1000mA = 1 Amp?)

Or should i buy the USB hub and hook them fans normally?

I have this fan and its pluged into a extra ipod charger i have. Its not very powerful but its worth $5.

Do you think 3 will be enough then?

what are you using them for..they arent really that strong...but ive used them, and just spliced comp fans with cell phone chargers...its pretty much cut,cap,plug and play!....if you dont care about noise or have the space just get a bigger fan from like HD that you can attach ducting too...
