Anyone tried to make grow room "2 storeys" high?

Sorry if this question is stupid/noobish but if the strain you're growing is quite short could you go like this:

40cm soil/hydro/aero
60cm the plant itself
25cm distance to light
20cm light
5cm shelf =1.5m

the same on top of shelf =3m

Has anybody done it, is it terribly inconvenient?

in five easy gardens jorge cervantes pictures a garden with two levels in a closest. The bottom has 2 150 watt hps bulbs for veg and the top has one 600 watt hps bulb for flower of 12 3 gallon soiless pots. Pulls over 20 ounces if I remember right. nice garden.

I have set up systems in homes and apartments with cathedral ceilings etc that allow for two levels. I simply put fast growing heat loving indicas and Aghanis in the top and crosses in the bottom. I just used clones and went from good rooted clones with just two weeks of veg growing under low intensity lighting to budding underhigh intensity lighting. I used a slat flooring in between for easy air circulation and pumped CO2 in at the top where it was most needed. Typically the top budding cycle was about half the length of the bottom.
