I just forked up the money for a stealth pc box at mrgrowpro.net. I researched forever about building one myself. I had decided that after I bought all the materials and spent all the time involved it wasn't worth it and most likely would not have been near as good quality. So if you got the money, I'd check them out. I got the led soil version. 5 days into my first ever grow.

Just had my measuring tape out. If you want to fit the 125w bulb, the ceramic fitting etc in comfortably, the case needs to be about 50cm/20 inches long.

Like this one:

Only without the ridiculous clear plastic bits.

Mind you, I'm not sure if the dimensions given are interior or exterior. There are loads of bits sticking out which might be included in the measurements!
You might be best off hitting your local used PC store and getting an old fashioned massive PC or an old server and gutting it yourself.

it is not economical to fit a single 125w lamp. If you want to go with cfls you are way better off with pll/t5 (the straight tube types), you can make such a fixture taking much less (vertical) space than a single 125w, even with a reflector.

Plus, 125w lamps are those big fat ones with tubes positioned in a circle, right ? Think about it man, those 125w of light come out in all directions, a whole lot of it will be "lost" inside the hollow center where it will simply be shining onto it self- useless. And without a reflector you get only a bit more than half of the outside output as well. So in total out of those 125w you are left with way less. Its possible to calculate it, but approximately 50-60w is my guess. Thats an optimistic guess btw.

I bought lights ages ago m8 and Ive seen loads of pc cases with a 125w cfl in theirs and it works.......
So miller in would that case be okay or would I be taking a risk getting it.... I've asked a neighbour about a case and he said he's getting some in over week but he said he might he might have a server case but he has a midi tower which would be too small right??
But what if I wait until weekend and he doesn't get it I could have had a case...
But I have everything nutes soil thermo hygrometer ph mylar lights ona block ph down..... All I need is the case. I've been looking at cases for weeks and I still haven't got one yet weeks... And it's starting to get pretty annoying constantly looking for one....
If you could find a cheap server case for me that would work perfect.
But would that case from amazon be of any use????

I wouldn't want to say yes or no to that since I can't see it in front of me. There's a lot of patching up to be done of all the clear bits (this might take away from the stealth element) and I'm not sure about the interior dimensions. You could get the plant started off while you wait to find the perfect case. Personally, if your neighbour doesn't come through, I'd fit the bulb to the socket, double check the measurements, then hit some local PC stores for new and second hand cases - second hand might be better since they'll probably tend to be bigger. You could even try the local tip. They usually leave all the electricals in one place and I always see people rummaging through for stuff. Take your tape measure with you and make sure it'll all fit.
