just need something to charge batteries.

and the did you see how much suction they got out of it once it started running? i just think that's cool. i imagine trying to find a probperty that had something like that available would be hard to find.

They had me at, "you just need a stick." hahaha, great time to grow! more inputs (nutes) offset by free energy. but hopefully most people are lazy, pay more for energy, and then have to charge more for bud. Lames. I'm not walking around hugging trees and shit, but I'll save a dollar! Motivation.

13.5 kWh and 7kW continuous draw for the current Powerwalls.

What can one practically do with such a small accumulator? Three hours of AC would drain that here. I’d consider 250 kWh a minimum to keep the house powered for, say, a week of rain and no wind (so no recharging going on). I am a pretty stingy power user.

add: no grow. If 4x4 tent and 1000w HPS, figure another 100 kWh extra to go one week.

The usual sizing is two or three of them at 8500 each. Idea being they get recharged during daylight from solar. They can't support a big ac unit for a long time. If you wanted a week of storage for bad weather much cheaper to have a diesel generator as the long duration backup.

Let's simplify it to one $8500 powerwall, allowing you to run a 1kw tent for 12 hours. If you were to charge that from a solar array (cost not included), for me that would give 12 hours of power that would otherwise cost me 11 cents×12=$1.32. Thats a very long return on investment. Better to have a greenhouse and use the light directly.

Right. At this point, ROI realized sooner if batteries charged by generator independent of solar/grid. Cool to have solar/grid pairing for incremental efficiency, but bypassing the system with an apparatus capable of generating 100W/56V is becoming a possibility. Software programs weren't as accessible 5-10 years ago, now they're much more user-friendly. Keeping an eye on tech developing in 3rd world countries currently without electricity in villages -- that seems to be where there's the most interest.

Besides lighting, AC is a substantial energy cost.
