I have order and grow some of hi genetics. ordered kc.33, haze special, ledo uno, and mango. grew ledo uno and mango indoors and out. ledo average both in and out. the mango can't really remember in but out was well above average. had terible germination prolems with others. i think this is what took k.c down years ago have really hered anthing from him since his cup winners.

KC's Bahia Blackhead is fantastic. Easy to grow, smells great, and hits you like a tank. I grew the BB alongside some JillyBean and liked them equally. 20 bucks a pack or 100 bucks a pack. Take your pick. I'm working with Satori right now and they were only 25 dollars or so a pack. There are great strains out there for a fair price.

The germination problems are over...I think. I got two packs of Haze special last march for an outdoors run, out of 20 I had 17 pop and the last three were my fault as I had a less than ideal germing setup at the time (a dinner plate, some soggy rockwool and an upturned cooking pot over top of a vent). If the seedbank your buying from is reputable then I'd say go for it.

As for potency, I had to harvest my hazes about 20-30 days early because of weather. They really aren't appropriate for my area (42 * N in NA) but some of them did turn a very dark purple. I have a bunch of really old school scraggly looking "purple haze" now and it is a remarkably strong sativa effect for such immature bud. The purple is more on the dreamy side of sativa, the green/yellow stuff is all up, up, peppery thai high. Fresh it smelled very strongly of Frankensense (the ehtiopian restaurant smell) and cured it smells of sandalwood, pepper, pathchouli, anise and other sweet/savoury/spicy herbs.

Im going to run his k.c 33 next year for sure, it should finish in time for me here (hopefully..)

Hey,
I have grown three KC strains, Mango, Leda Uno and KC 33. The reason I selected these more than many others was obviously that they had the traits i was after but all three are cannabis cup winners. The mango is a great for a fast finisher, the flavour has a nice mellow skunky taste but still has a good solid indica hit. Yield is good considering it finishes early (11 weeks start to finish indoor)
Leda Uno was a favourite of mine for quite a while. Very easy to grow not bad yield and a really tasty citrusy lemon flavour to the smoke.
KC 33 has some good sativa characteristics without the really long flower times. The high was a good mix of cerebral up with a nice body stone on the way down.

KC Brains strains are cheap because he only does regular seeds and more importantly because he chooses to sell them at this price. about 5 years ago a lot of the big dutch breeders all got together and tried to make him increase his prices to bring them in line with their own, but he said no.
A few years ago there were quite a lot of issues with his seeds not germinating or not being as stable in their traits as they should be (there were reports of getting 3-4 different phenos in a pack of 10 seeds) but this seems to have been sorted out now and the germination levels are back up to where they should be.

All in all I am a big fan of KC genetics and anyone that has 7 Cannabis cups under his belt has to be doing something right..

i grabbed a pack of swiss xtacy for some variety. they claim it's all sativa but flowers in 70 days...haven't grown it yet but looked into kc brains before i bought. real mixed reviews. the people who like it love it, and everyone else seems to be not so impressed. i got them because they were cheap. but to the poster who says you get what you pay for, there are exceptions to the rule. mandala seeds are very inexpensive and have a track record that speaks for itself. mr nice is one of the best breeders out there and their beans only seem expensive until you realize that most of their strains come 18 beans to a pack. as far as kc brains is concerned, i wasn't afraid to buy them but i must admit i'm apprehensive about growing them.
