Anyone Ever Use One of These?

I wish you the best of luck on your grow and I do not know a lot about hydo but have read the plants root system tends to grow smaller than that of plants in soil and I have pulled out huge root systems out of 3 1/2 gallon buckets after harvest in soil. Yeah I built an 8 site cloner with a 5g bucket built it for like 20 bucks or so from a trip to wally world. No need imo for drip system or sprayers if making a bubble cloner seems to work great without em. There is a lot of guys into dwc on here and some pull amazing results with minimal setups like what your talking but those guys have the trial and error part down by now. Once again best of luck to you on your grow and keep us updated would love to know how well it works out for you. I'm old school and believe each plant should have its own container
I still haven't bought anything yet besides the bigger lights (I'm using CFLs and a small LED right now), my lights will arrive any day now.
I'm gonna spend the weekend looking around and see what I can learn. I'd hate to buy something expecting certain results, and getting disappointed.

I like the idea of those buckets because they are the perfect size for my cabs, I can take the buckets out through the small cab doors without having
to tilt it on its side like a hydro unit I have right now. The unit is 16" wide, my cab doors are 14" wide. I never even got to use it, it is collecting dust
in the attic.

I'm fairly old school too, but I do like technology, and will give up my old ways for a proven new way. I never had more than one plant per container
before, but until this year, I've only grown outside, and only a few plants per year. 10 plants was the most I ever did. And each had their own container.

That's cool I follow and read the new tech but stick to what I know works for me everyone is different and has different opinions on everything which is awesome cause it allows us to learn from their mistakes or success. That sucks about your hydro set up being to big to fit through your door though man maybe you should make a bigger door lol. Give it a try and see what happens that's really all you can do or read a bunch more and see if anyone has already had success or failure using same set up. I'm curious to know know how it will work out have been thinking of getting another lid and citting a hole for net pot and trying out going hydro through flower but been pretty lazy lately waiting till my AK47 plants finish up flowering before i m gonna worry to much about it though. Got about 6 weeks left on the AK before there done lol

As far as indoor growing, everything is pretty new to me. Outside growing was a lot easier. All I did was start the seeds inside under shop lights, and then put them outside until
they were ready. Mother nature did most of the work.

I'd like to continue growing outside, I would if I could, but I can't in my location. So I'm limited to indoors. My first indoor plants are coming out pretty nice, especially they almost
died a few times in the beginning, I was under watering when I was for sure I was over watering. They were in MG soil, and 1 gallon containers, and grown with a few CFL bulbs.

I just ordered Skunk x Big Bud, it took me weeks to decide which strain to pick. I should get those in a few weeks.

This is a pic from one of my CFL plants, it's pretty close to harvest. Not a very big plant, maybe 14" tall.

Well you already have the biggest part figured out and that's you learn as you grow lol. I would advise against the mg soils though mostly bark and build up salts fast causing many problems also doesn't drain to well and tends to pack tight the soil that is.

That set up from HTG is decent but is really only good for one plant. You'll be miserable dealing with two plants in that size container. Go out and pick yourself up one or two of those square pales of Kitty Litter and your golden. I'm assuming that old hydro set up in the attic had an air pump and air tubing. All you would need to buy is an air stone and net cup. Cut out a circular hole in the lid for a net pot and your done. This is a bare bones DWC.

The MG soil wasn't too bad, I got the moisture control kind, but I'll never use it again. And if I decide I don't like hydro, I'll try soil-less mixes next time, like Promix or something.

I got all the valuable stuff from it including the pump, and the clay pellets, plus the net pots (6) 6 x 6 x 7 square pots. The air stone was useless. Barely any bubbles.

I might just do 1 plant per bucket, and just veg it a little longer. And I can use the 6 x 6 x 7 square pots from the unused hydro set up. I have 6 of them.

I run the ff trio and have never seemed to need anything else with it but all the same I have only run like 2 plants ever in only coco I mainly use it for fresh rooted cuttings before putting them into soil imo it helps to get em going without having to worry about the soil buning them that early on

The bud porn looks tasty mmmmmmmm
That plants stinks so bad right now. Not a typical weed like smell, not at all skunky, more earthy, really earthy.

I'm looking at the prices of everything I would need if I did all coco instead of DWC. Seems like it may be a little cheaper.

i just got finished with coco..i just didnt care for it....im thinkin of making my own dwc system since my bubble cloner was a sucsess. as far as cost its prolly about the same , or close.

Yeah maybe my local shop has pro coir brand bricks for like 3 dollars each and they expand to like 2 or 3 gallons of medium hell its cheaper than soil. I like it so far

not all coco is eqaul...the more expensive stuff has been dried and washed of all salts, and its pre chraged i belive..so basicly you just start growing in it. the other stuff is more of a hassle with prep and upkeep

I'm still going to do DWC. I may try coco or Promix later in the future.

I probably wont use soil again though.

Yo Green Inferno! You have had a while from these post and I was wondering how your grow went and has been going with these systems. I am looking at them also for my first grow and wondering what you thought?

I have tried similar systems. And I have considered this very unit. I think it's a good starter and would be ok for auto-flowers.
