I think I am about to pick up some 150w hps flood lights and I was wondering if anyone has ever used them before? The are in a black case "reflector" that is about 8x10 inches wide, with reflective material behind the bulb..I think they have a small ballast inside of the case...Anyhow they need to be wired and I figured I could run two strands of them for side lighting...Anyone ever tried this before?

yeah thats the same bulb, mine was from like a light pole fixture, kinda big. but yeah that should work, i ran 4 big CFLs with it also just hanging down inbetween with plants surrounding each one.

Wow this is a throw back thread! So I ended up giving those lights to a friend, to which he added to his grow. He has two 1000w on a light mover over 4 flood and drain trays, and now has the 150 in the corners to add some extra light while the 1000's are on the other side of the table...Seems to work pretty good, they do get hot, but it is still cold in my part of the world....
