I'm seeking input from anyone who has ever reversed their lighting schedule, especially if they eventually switched it back.

Here's the deal: some plants are just going into bloom (~12/12). I am considering switching the schedule to run the lights at night, say from about 9 PM to ~9 AM for a little while (a week or two). Two reasons for this: one is heat, the other is peak hours. Both of which I loathe.

If I was to do this I'd obviously want to minimize any stress. So if you've ever done this how did you do it and what was the result? E.g. did you do it incrementally? Did you just let the plants sit in the dark for an extended period until the newly desired lights-on time came around?

I was thinking if I was to do this it would be extended dark period for the initial switch and then incrementally switch it back to running the lights during the day.

If you're going to make a major light shift, it's going to be fine. Just use this simple rule:
If they are already on a 12/12 cycle, don't interrupt the dark period. If this means giving them 24 hours of dark while you change the cycle then so be it. It will be fine.

Why would u ever want to switch them back to running during the day?
What time do they come on at now?

Because while I sometimes enjoy staying up until 2-3 am, I also enjoy getting stoned at night, getting at least 7 hours of sleep and waking at a reasonable hour. I'm the kind of person who would just end up staying up later and sleeping in later and later until next thing I know I'm up all night. At which point I'd be tempted to consume real drugs in an effort to remedy the situation. Neither scenario is particularly desirable since I have a family and they 'care' about me or some such bullshit. Also I go back to college in less than a couple weeks.

Plus I wouldn't have to worry so much about obscure light-leaks if running lights during the day.

The problem really is the volatile weather. A semi-cool forecast for several days which turned out largely to be a sham give me a glimmer of false hope. Now I see that daytime temperatures for the next couple weeks are predicted to be way higher than average, while nighttime temps should mostly be about or below 60. In that case I shouldn't even have to run the AC at night, which would be ideal.

When I was doing veg I had no problem turning the lights off for a few hours during the hottest part of the day. Now that I want to bloom that just makes less sense, since they obviously wont have as many light hours now. But, for convenience and the aforementioned reasons I'd like to switch back when it is safe to do so.

Right now lights are on about 10 am to 11 pm.

Well u could consider using a shorter flowering time to.
Either way leave the light off for the extended period as opposed to leaving out on.
