------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ok so i germed a seed and set it about a half inch in the wet dirt that i had just run water through and about 4 or 5 hours later the seed is laying on top of the dirt in the cup not even in the middle! and noone else could have messed with it...it seems to have washed up and moved even though i dampened the water ahead of time..could the water settling in the cup have done this?? i have no other explanation, anyone else ever have this happen

Seed most likely full of air no embryo. Usually if soaked for a few minutes good seeds sink. Seeds filled with air that will produce nothing float.

Seeds also should not be planted 1/2" deep. 1/4" with about 1/8" cover tend to sprout faster, at least for me they do.

Sure its the seed and not one of those water holding pellets?

..i didnt look at it my buddy did but i gotta take his word he knows what a seed looks like lol....ya it was leaning toward being a dud anyway after three days of germing and no sign of a sprout so i like that theory that it may be very boyant and easily washed up, but you never know so we gave it a chance...and actually i lied cuz hes gonna see this and i didnt want someone to come on and tell me i didnt plant it deep enough and him blame me (even tho i know a quarter inch is enough some ppl on here come and run their mouth and he will think i screwed up) but truthfully i only planted it about a quarter inch :D
