I heard it takes a long ass time to cure.. I am interested in any info.. Cigs are just too damn expensive and getting more expensive.

guys, nicotine is added to tobbacco, nicotine is what we are all addicted to, i had the same idea myself but then when i was thinking about it kinda hit me you'd have to add nicotine to the tobacco yourself. i wonder if it would even be possible for just anyone to buy nicotine in a form you could add it to your tobacco in..
actuly tabacco plants naturly produce nicotine its the way you dry that makes a diffrence

Any info on growing tobacoo is still greatly appreciated.. I am really curious about growing my own tobacco.

Follow the very clear instructions provided with every pack of tobacco seeds, enhanced by feed back from existing customers, and your success is guaranteed. After your first crop of tobacco, the second will benefit from your experiences and the seeds will have acclimatised to your local soil.
How do I grow these plants ?
Tobacco seeds initially require temperatures of 70-80°F, so start growing them in a propogator. Alternatively, you can place a covered seed tray in a warm cupboard for 7 to 10 days. Once at the seedling stage, a recommended 55°F is required to bring them on. You may wish to transplant the seedlings into small pots and keep them indoors for this stage. For 10-12 weeks after this period, they are grown outside (in frost free conditions) as normal. Every pack of tobacco seeds comes with instructions which are designed for ease of use and are simple to follow.
What type of soil do I need ?
Most soils will suit your plants, with the exception of heavy clay which needs breaking up with peat. Tobacco even thrives on poor sandy soil where other plants often fail. Plenty of water must be available as tobacco plants are a thirsty crop. You will find that your second year's crop will adjust to your soil and conditions and often produce better tobacco.
How much space will I require?
A soil area of approximately 1 metre by 8 metres will be able to sustain 50 plants, producing enough tobacco for well over 5,000 cigarettes.
What equipment do I need ?
As mentioned, you will require a propagator, unless you have outdoor temperatures of 22°C to 27°C. You will also need land to plant out - your garden will do just fine. Ideally you could use a greenhouse for a simple, effective and inexpensive way to cure your tobacco. If you do not have a greenhouse, you can follow our instructions to build a curing chamber with a floor area of 1m², which cures 40lb tobacco in as little as 4 weeks. Do climate and weather conditions matter ?
The British climate is ideal for tobacco growth and hotter climates present no problem. However, much colder environments do run a risk of some crop failure, so please bear this in mind - Iceland be warned! If you take care with your first crop, then your second and successive crops should acclimatise to your local climate. In high wind areas the plants should be staked out, and in very wet areas plant on raised ridges to allow for drainage. The Icelandic flag can be seen on our About Us page. hey 420 all my family outta town are big tobacco farmers in ky and from ea what i know growing tobacco outdoors is relatively easy. aside from the initial planting and harvest the crop seems to preety much take care of itself. i have helped them pick off tobacco worms which are really cool lookin electric green catepillar thingys but theyll eat the hell outta your crop! as far as nutes go and any other maintenance im not sure but ill check and see, they been growin huge fields for generations too so theyll probably have some of the best info around. now when it comes to curing it you dont need anything special, they hang it up in the loft of old barns and it sells to marlboro and some other bigger companies so i know its top quality. id say a garage with some decent airflow would probably work just as good as a barn. but good luck buddy ill see if i can get some more info ya and ill post it here if i do.
oh yea and tobacco is unhealthy and addictive but to say its anywhere near as addictive as heroin has obviously never been dope sick or even known anyone who has been! tobacco "withdrawl" only lasts 24 hours and it doesnt make you vomit, give you a fever, cause seizures or any of the other intense withdrawl symptoms of heroin or even crack for that matter! tobacco aint good for you but there's a lot of bull shit info out there (truth.org) that is out right lies and elaborate exageration and most of the people puttin this nfo out have hidden agendas (sales for nicotine patches and other stop smoking aids etc.) im not tryin to say that smoking is good for you but its nowhere near as bad as its made out to be and nowhere near as many people die from cigs and 2nd hand smoke as they claim. its just another attempt by facists to take away even more of personal freedoms and make us belive in what they belive in. my papaw is 90 and has been smokin since he was 13 and he's healthy as a horse! im sure ill get a bunch of replies about everybodies friends and families that died from smoking now but im just sayin.... ill get off my soapbox now!

oh, and all the tobacco stuff.
heres my 2 cents
people are stupid, we are not an intellegant breed. i grew up with kids that inhaled spraypaint to get high, fuckin breathin butane and shit to cop a buzz.
i know people now, smokin the weeds in their backyard, and makin tea from death vines.
we got cooks all over the country makin shit from things that require a hazardous disposal fee.
ive got friends that are dead right now, cuz they thought they were 10's when they were in fact 30's.
we regularly drink rotten juice extract for fun. (well some of us do)
were at war in a region nobody has successfully attacked in like 8000 years.
and the mcdonalds where i live cant even put bacon ON my angus bacon cheeseburger, and they usually forget the cheese.
lemmie tell ya. im not worried about smokin.
im worried about all those other people.
cuz i know the stupid shit i do.
i remeber times ive nodded off for 1 sec while drivin 70.
and if even 10% of those people,

i really hated how people tryed to tell patrick swayze , that he shouldent smoke when he was sick and how they continued to talk about it after he died, as if it would have made a dif. as if it even is what caused the cancer to start- please dont get me started on what i think is really killing the people on this planet- not saying smoking anything is good or ok, actualy its the worst way to recive any meds outside of vaperizing, just saying on the list of things that i feel are far worst, smoking anything , is nowhere close to the top- i just would rather you smoke weed then cigs - have you tryed curing leaf and smoking that, ive smoked uncured leaf before, worst smoke ever (taste)
maybe find a way to extract the nicatine and add it to the weed leaf

no, but I've picked it. There are some crazy insects in a tobacco feild, not to mention the big ass tobacco worms. Fresh tobacco has weird effect on me, and a lot of other people. It will make your lips swell up if you're around it enough, but it goes away. hahaha
