isn't fox tailing a good thing sometimes ? i got told some become just leaf and some become just extended bud

was he wrong ?
Haha. Its not usually desirable. I chopped this girl early as i found a banana (usually caused by stress) the strain is white widow x big bud. Funny thing is i have 3 different phenos, this one and 2 others. All grown in the same environment, fed the same, trained the same (no training this run) and the other 2 phenos have solid buds with no sign of stress or foxtailing. I had this girl as a young clone when i discovered her mother foxtailed like this. I was going to biff this pheno and be done with it, but thought id experiment with no topping or bending and slightly drop my temps. The exact same thing still happened. So i put it down to horrible genetics. And a learning phase. DONT buy ww x bb!! :finger::roll:

Not too much stress, no. I grew ww x bb years ago and found it to hermie but had 1 pheno that yielded close to big bud with white widow potency. Thought id try my luck again...... my advice Jr Grow, stay a2ay from ww x bb!!

Foxtailing buds throughout flower is just a trait of some Sativas, some of which is as powerful as anything. Can be irritating and difficult when drying.

Late foxtailing seems to produce very little extra weight and makes trimming a real pain in the ass.
Makes sense hillbill. Definitely not stress related here. There was a forum a while back and they were talking about stress and excess heat being the cause of foxtailing. But i know this was genetic. Ive also heard/experienced that white widow x big bud is not very stable and presumed it was a genetic setback from this particular pheno of ww x bb???

Growers are idiots, you control all the trends, its up to you whether people like foxtail or not. Pot smokers have never once brought their own preference to the table regarding these things.

Used to label them "exotic". Always good smoke though, not some dispo crap smellin like the hydro store.

Have to agree. On the strains I've run that have exhibited this trait, all of them have strong sativa parentage.

Foxtails are definitely a Sativa phenonium, never seen it in an Indica.
I think a high nutrient level has something to do with it, plus genetics.
Definitely good smoke, but bag appeal goes way down selling it, as most don't get it that actually it is great bud.
