Over the years I've grown and toked (since the early '80's) and all the back and forth hype I've heard that overall the Pac NW, Portland to Seattle, has the best relative to availability range. Cali has the long history of Humbolt and Mendicino Counties behind them and there's a lot of really good smoke available there by volume. Living in Seattle for years may seem to make me biased. But time and again I've heard and read in High Times and elsewhere from folks who travel alot that the Pacific NW region has been known for supplying some of the best bud in the world since the '80's. In 1999 I knew a grower who worked an unknown strain pheno that was to date the best mind blowing S#!T I've ever smoked before or since. It was so overwhelming in terms of potency and quality of soaring blast-off, kick butt high you'd have to experience it to believe it.

you do realize that a good portion of the bud that floats around is homegrown. sure there are commercial setups that pump out the majority of it but usually those are run by folks who have experience growing their own already. (im talking about U.S. grown bud...not mexi brick weed)
So in reality homegrown is cali bud for the most part. especially if you go to a dispensary. most of that bud has been grown by a regular joe who knows his shit.
homegrown can be crap too because many inexperienced or unskilled growers pump out some crappy indoor buds as well.
so the quality of homegrown can be scwhag all the way to dank.
like i said before good bud is/can be grown anywhere in the world. doesn't matter what state or country ur in. it just so happens places like Cali and the rest of the west coast are known for their high quality bud...mostly because its available in volumes not known to the rest of the u.s. plus its also cheaper (ie. 400/z in NY when you can get a zip almost half that in cali or similar regions)

hey i agree. im just saying if you're good at growing bud it doesnt where you live. pretty much. i grow my own too and the quality is always better (seems like it) when you grow it yourself. commercial growers aren't always interested in quality as much as quantity.
i agree except the whole rain water part. if you grow with nothing but seeds, dirt, light, and water its not gonna come out amazing. plants need nutes too!

last year i went to the daytona 500, my my popps lives there in town, and is pretty well connected alot of the stuf i smoked when i was there didnt even get me stoned off a joint while my pops is re eyed and blazed as F&%cK =) maybe i smoke too much bunk ass cali weed to get high, or MAYBE i dont even know what getting high is cause i been smoking this cali bammer ass weed, that looks like a f%4ing Geode all shiny and shit. if u dont like cali its cause YOU CANT AFFORD IT =)

Located in the Pacific NW, Cali holds specialty ultra rich soils, neuts, supplies and products (being in a large market and all for a fair price) that for the
most part are not available outside of Cali so yes anyone can grow what THEY think is superior bud.
On a side note, for quite a few in Cali (some since birth), growing is their way of life 24/7. They live,eat,breath and smoke pot like no other.

ive tried pot while in california,amsterdam, spain and thailand and all over the U.S..i couldn't agree more with the fact that, once you learn how to grow your own pot. with a decent set up, the right nutes and a little elbow grease . the best pot you'll be smokin is the stuff you grow yourself. bottom line. once you know the ropes, you'll never see anything that looks like good homegrown indoor.everything else, including the gold nuggets outta cali, wont be good enough....actually, it kinda sucks.not to mention around my parts there's been a flood of "cali outdoor" for about a year now that frankly looks and tastes like shit.i don't mean to offend any californians i any way. california has been fighting this so called war on drugs harder than any other state for almost half a century now.in doing so, they've paved the way for other states to follow suit and stand up for their own state rights....bla bla bla i know i ramble.

i couldn't agree more. if you learn to grow the right way theres gonna be nothing as good.
Reason being is commercial or "for profit' growers don't take a 1/4 as much care as you do. When you're growing for yourself you do everything you can to ensure you're doing everything right and that the smoke comes out top notch. commercial/"for profit" growers generally care more about their yield than anything else.
thats why dumbasses put pepsi on buds to "make them sticky". if you grew it right in the first place you wouldnt need to scam us by putting pepsi all over it, etc.
im sure the cali outdoor is crap just because everyone and their momma tries to make a buck during the outdoor grow season but most of my friends and their friends don't know the slightest thing about what it takes to grow a plant (let alone mj).
