Anyone else seen this within flowers?

I found two flowers that had dried out browning tops.
I very slightly grabbed the buds and both easily detached cleanly.
The attached image shows what I found beneath the dry removed portion.
Has anyone seen this?

Looks like bud rot .
I think it's likely you are correct.
I had been thinking more along the lines of bugs because of the pile of tiny balls left behind that appear similar to termite droppings (the photo doesn't show it clearly enough).
Thanks.

If I were you I would check any big buds for more rot. A dead giveaway is the hairs will be red/dead where it is effected.

There were two.
Both exactly the same, with the lower 2/3 of the bud still seemingly perfect, but the the 1/3 above the rot area dry and turning golden brown.
All other buds look powerful and strong, but I'll be watching like a hawk.

I'm wondering if I may have induced this in the process of my PM chase.
I've been using the diluted milk spray, which seems to be effective temporarily. I try not to hit the flowers at all, but a couple of times I got single buds a little drenched by accident.

These plants are just stacked with dense flowers.
They seem so close to done that I'm worried about waiting too long, but I'm only at about 4.5 weeks flowering.
First time, lots of effort, don't want to mess this up.

Thanks, I'll be looking out for the caterpillar too.
I'm assuming you're talking about a very very small type of caterpillar right?

Just to close this one out...

Caterpillars.
Found one huge one in my top cola (had eaten out the middle already).
Found about one small one per bud across two plants.
The plants seem to be pretty much clear now, but I'm sure I'll encounter more during harvest next week.
Planning to trim and discard layers of any flowers with visible droppings on the interior surfaces.
Bummer.

Keep your head up. and Keep your eyes open the next grow. :) Your buds themselves look good minus affected area... :) Good luck.

It depends, there is many different kinds, some from big butterfly some from tiny butterfly and some from moths, mon think little moth is worst, its tiny caterpillars and only find once damage is done.......some are tiny size like some are medium and some are big normal size.....one thing for sure, mon hate em all.
