anyone else not mind hermies?

I have discovered all my three plants are hermies. I have been thinking about it and I dont see why it is that bad? I know that the plants will produce seeds and less thc but I know all my plants will produce smokable bud. so I figure if I plant hermie seeds they will either be females or hermies so I know when I plant 10 seeds I will get 10 plants to produce bud witch is better than maybe only a couple being female. so my thought is I will have less potent weed but more of it so it evens out? don't get me wrong I plan on getting better grade seeds in the future but untill then I will enjoy my hermies. anyone have any thoughts on this maybe I am missing something important.

If all your plants are hermies I wouldn't see the point in killing them, I would just keep growing them like you are. But their seeds won't all be female/hermie, they can still be male. The seeds aren't clones of the parents, the only way to get 100% females is by cloning a female plant. One of my plants turned out to be a hermie and some of the pollen sacks opened up while I was vacation soI decided to keep it anyway since it was the only non-male of that strain and I figured it pollenated the other 3 females already. I've just been pulling off all the pollen sacks as they grow. Don't know if this is a good idea or not, but o well. Good luck!

On my first couple of grows, having a Hermie was no big deal to me. I was just learning how to keep them alive anyway and any good smoke was a bonus. Now that I have my grow cabinet some what dialed in, I don't want anything other than 100% pure sensi. I have decided if I am going to invest the time and money into growing, I want the absolute best smoke in my area and that includes no seeds.

As I write this, I am smoking a bud from a hermie that is dripping in resin. You can throw the damn thing up against the wall and it will stick. I am using these buds as a learning tool for my cureing process. Trust me, these buds have been curing for 6 weeks and they are turning into some very smooth tasting, kick ass weed. So harvesting a hermie is not always a bad thing.

Good luck with yours and try all kinds of shit on'em. Can't really hurt them at this point.

hermies aint so bad,
i have a strain that is hermie,i dont get any seed in the main buds (well maybe one or two)
but the lower buds get quite a bit of seed.
still it is better than no smoke in fact it is better than some of the so called seedless buds around, that i have tried

Ive started last year with 1 seed and it turned out to be hermi .Where i live its hard to get any weed or seeds so i got lucky with that hermi i have plenty of seeds and evryone i ever planted allways turns hermi so what i do is cut off as many pollen sacs as possible and get very few seeds. Maybe like 10 seeds per plant and they produce like 2 ounces of bud per plant.Pic 1 and 2 are main cola after the chop and 3 and 4 are lower colas 2 weeks befor harvest.I got that 1 seed in a 5 doller bag of dirt and turned it decent bud

ok good I am glad I am not the only one who doesnt mind.lol. this is my first try so I dont care too much. I am not sure why they are hermies. I at first had them under cfls them to MH and HPS 400 watts. they had all kinds of problems at first because I used MG soil. but they are doing good now. I had a feeling they would be hermie because the bag of weed they came from had tons of seeds so I figured it was from hermie plants. I am just excited they are growing they have been flowering for 11 days and they finally look like little miniture buds. I gave them some molasses yesterday and this morning they had tons of white hairs and were sticky when I accidentally brushed one I am happy. thanks to everyone here for the help this is an exciting time as a ganja revolutionary! Keep burning! Keep Growing!

Well if you followed the Canadian Poly Ploid discussion that I started you would see some good info about Hermaphrodite plants.

But the whole point of getting good at something is to be proud of what you have done, take extreme pleasure in your accomplishments while remaining somewhat humble in your approach and desire to enlighten others with your vast knowledge and experiences involved in growing THE FUCKIN' BEST.

Pollen and seeds certainly have their purpose and when managed correctly amazing new strains happen.

But to be complacent and resign yourself to knowing you are being half assed in your efforts will only produce half assed results that taste like crap and give you headaches.Sign me up for that, mmmmgood

I dont freak out when i get hermies,it blows ass big time when they flip flop at the start of budding because bud production goes straight to hell,at that point i kill them off,on the other hand if they go hermie on me twords the end of the bud cycle i let them finish up in another room.

Sensi means seedlass, thats it,seeds in mature buds are not related one bit as to the quality of the smoke,im a pretty happy guy when they hermie in the last 2 weeks of budding cause i end up with free fminised seeds.

Its odd that i see this thread today as i just discovered 3 hermies with huge balls last evening,i took them this morning to a plot behind an abondened factory & transplanted them about 100 yards apart,if they grow out i'll have an assload of seeds,if not its no loss.

what about cutting the pollen sacks,,, if they are removed,,, well i've never seen a hermie first person so i don't know how many pollen sacks they grow not as many as a male i hope :o so if cut off they wont be producing seeds so no thc will be wasted --- right?¿?

does anybody has tried that,,, if a hermie with its pollen sacks produce the same amount of weed that a female plant in same conditions...

there you go a hypothesis for your investigation protocol for school.. hehehe :hump:

Screw going threw and cutting off sacs... Run with your hermies for sure. You will def still enjoy the smoke. Take a look into getting some Dutch Master's Reverse. It will supress the male hormones and reduce the number of seeds you will end up with. It could stop any seeds if applied early enough.

hermies are fine if your looking for feminised seeds.... i have intentionally done this with very good strains and used the seeds to pass along to friends.. there was no dip in quality at all.. not even a little bit...... so to me, i think hermies have their purpose.
