Anyone else get Dr. Greenthumbs gear? Just recieved mine, instructions?

So just got my OG Kush and Headband from Dr. Greenthumb.

They came with instructions to germinate in a paper towel with 1/8 to 1/4 strength nutes, and when the tap root emerges to place it in your growing media taproot UP.

I have always put my seeds, pointed end down, into root riot cubes, and into a heated propagator under my T5s. And no nutes until they sprout, and then I just do light feedings of b'cuzz roots every other watering. Haven't had any problems/high success rate sprouting seeds.

So, should I follow the doc's recomendation? Or stick to what has worked for me in the past?

ALSO, TAP ROOT UP OR DOWN? What do you ladies and gentlemen do?

I decided to only test 4 of the 10 beans I bought. 2 as per Doc's instructions, and 2 in my regular root riot fashion. Just got them going this morning, only time will tell if there is a difference.

My thought was since I paying so much for these seeds I don't want to risk damaging the tap root once germinated, as that method has never seamed to have any benefit over starting them directly into a medium. With my method they are usually up and out within 3-5days, doesn't seam to matter if it's bag beans or quality genetics.

tick tock tick tock...now it's time to play the waiting game and remind myself not to kill them with kindness.

i would say to do whatever has worked for you well in the past. seeds should react similar, if it worked before it will work gain.

Well I wasn't even thinking about switching my method until I recieved those damn instructions! I still have 2 OG kush and 5 Headband seeds I plan on sprouting as soon as I see how the first 4 react. Hopefully I can get at least 1 or 2 decent mothers from this run, hopefully...

I always put the seeds in a cup of water with hydro peroxide until they pop, then plant 1/2" in soil and put on heat mat and under floro very close....NOW....my good friend has instructions sim ilar to Dr.G and I tried his method a week ago because I was bored and decided I would try it....I have thousands of seeds from my working so sacrificing a few is no big deal.....anyways his is.....you take water and hydro peroxide and wet a paper towel.....then place the seeds in the towel and place them in a sandwhich baggie and thumbtack it in a wall.....let it go until it is completely out of the shell and the leaves open up then place it tap down in soil and it is already a little seedling comng out of the towel and the orientation of the bag makes the taps go down.....yeah it works and worked great but like previously stated.......my shakey hands lost one to that but the rest made it fine and are kicking ass...........will I do this method agin? NO....my method works for me....I am lazy and simple.....I keep it simple and easy.....too much work....lol...but effective.....I guess I would do this fr Dr G and his seeds since it would just be a one or two time thing.
Respects,
