I hate the daytime. I usally try and sleep through as much of it as possible, then stay up all night. I just do not feel good during the day and I have no motivation to do anything and I don't feel alive, I just feel like a robot. But as soon as the night time comes I feel alive and I can think and I have motivation to do everything I have ever dreamed of and more. I usually stay up with 7 am then wake up at 3pm, and then I feel horrible till around 9 pm when I feel like my "day" actually begins. Does anyone else feel this way? I wish I wasn't like this because it i putting a damper on my relationships with people and getting things done because everything happens in the daytime. Any help or sugestions would be much appreciated. Also, its not that I have a problem sleeping because I use to go to bed at 9pm and wake up early, but I realized that I hated doing that so I stick to lving mostly at night. No matter what I do, i just can't "wake up" and live during the day.

Depends where you live? Is it just the daylight that makes you feel this way or seeing everyone else go about their daily stuff? I think if you moved to another part of the world say 12 hours difference when our night is their day your cycle would just slowly shift to you sleeping during the light hours. Maybe you need to move to a city that never sleeps? las vegas, newyork i dunno.
I've lived in a small town most of my life and most stores close at 10 or 11 in the evening and the town shuts down not much to do for a nocturnal. The only thing open after 11 is 1 bar. I am nocturnal at times when I am not working for a period of time when It doesn't matter when I get up, and in this small town over the years I have found the nocturnal crowd, not too many of them but there are a few ppl that I know I can call at 3 am and there is a good chance they are awake.

I am working right now, and I went from going to bed at 4-5 am to waking at 6.30 am. I work 20+ days straight with these hours and then I go home for 5-7 days and by the 3-4 day I am back on the old nocturnal schedule. then when I go back to work I only need to set an alarm for 3-4 days and after that I automatically wake at 6.15 to 6.45 no alarm! That's just my biological clock and I guess it adapts or changes very quickly.

I will also add that when I go home on a work break I will still wake at 6.30 am for the first few days but I have no problem falling back asleep right away and sleeping untill at least 10.00am.

I am nocturnal at times. But the only thing you can do is force yourself to stay up as much as you can until you can adapt to a sleep at night/awake during day schedule. I worked at night for many years and it was just freakin unbelievable how different being awake during the day would be. It's almost abnormal, but just so that I could be with a friend on day shift, I changed my sleeping habits and my body adjusted. If you truly feel like a nocturnal, as Mexiblunt said, then a big city would make you happy.

I feel the same way... and I live in a VERY small town... so there's nothing to do at nighttime because if you are out walking the streets you'll have cops stopping you every 10 minutes! It sucks!
