anyone else agree that a stoner and a pothead are not the same?

this is my definitoin of both...


pothead- lets marijuana run there life, basically sits home all day and gets high, or sits arond and thinks about gettin high, and brags about the fact taht they smoke


stoner-sumone that can still acheive things while under the influince, i like to be considered a stoner because i dont use marijuana as a party drug, i use it as a stimulant, i go to school at eastern ky university, and smoke everyday before class, and every evening after class, yet still maintain a 3.4 gpa, not to mention still make it to baseball practive every day without marijuana effecting my skills

Well i did consider them the same, until now...

ppl always find a way to split other ppl apart.

im not trying to be a dick or offend anyone, i just consider someone that calls themself a pothead a immature smoker lol

.....I don't get it.. I don't get peoples need to classify themselves into a certain category, or why people need to feel like they are something by definition.. Such as ethnicity, nationality, personality any of that bullshit.. Just be you, and call yourself you, don't worry about who falls where and what they'd be called.. I am neither stoner nor pothead, I am me and I smoke weed, whatever that makes me in your eyes, so be it. Just my .02....

well i respect your oppinoin man, i just feel that as a smoker you fall into one of 2 catagories, and most of the ppl on this site, in my oppion, fall into a good catagorie, and you can tell the ones that fall into the bad, considering they dont know what theyre talking about on most of these threads

I mean, technically yes, we all have certain traits and I appreciate your respect for my opinon, but I still fail to see any sort of need to say well I do this so you can call me this, I just think its silly to break it down to such a broad spectrum, as people we are quite diverse and should not be worried with what category we fall into, waste of time in my opinion.. Basically your out here making a black and white of smoking weed.

i think i get u. kind like when u go to a head-shop (in the mid-west anyways) and its full of wizards, dragons, tie-dye posters and employees who are just as stereotypical. catering to more the 'wastoid' mentality... thats totally insulting to say the more 'intelligent' smoker. i hate dat shit! >=(

I mean yes, I get what your at, don't get me wrong, I just don't see the need to even attempt to concern yourself with it.. To anwer your question though yes, I do not agree with the mentality that will smoke and be a bum as it perpetuates the preconceived notion that all smokers are like that and thats bad publicity when you want your plant legalized haha... Sounds funny doesn't it? Having to advocate the legality of a fucking plant, something that naturally occurs, its ridiculous..

I agree with vtguy... you don't have to be in this class or that one.. you're you and they're them.. let it be.. Once you label your fellow man you leave room for judgement and disagreement, which tends to breed hate and pits one against the other

ridiculous indeed. prohibition is obviously failing. as far as being called a pothead, i personally have let go of concerning myself with critic's opinions. the saying 'don't worry about the rain, because you cant do anything about it' apply. you cant control the opinions of others, so why care? however (as my wife will tell you) i am an expert at apathy surfing.

Its a difficult topic to express in a manner that would be uncontroversial but I understand the end message, too many stupid people smoke weed and get stupider and that is the basis for the ignorant opinion held by alot of people who don't believe in marijuana use.

im just saying my mentality of a pothead is bad advertisement, tahts all, no one get offended lol, as we all know though there are differnt types of smokers, and every1 fits into one of the hundreds up catagories, i was just addressing two of them

or functional pot head
I've known people to be functional alcoholics, and I think being a "functioning whatever" is just as good as being a sober person...

maintain grades
stay active
*adding my own* hold a job
