anyone doing A FLIP FLOP???

Really limited at my place. can't really do more than 600 watts at any one time (worried about fires and just using too much juice).

was thinking of either Flip Flopping or getting a light mover. flip flopping obviously i'd save a lot and perhaps could even cover more area???

Flip flop is a great way to maximize your ballast. But can you build one? And not be a fire hazard? Lol times like these simplier is better. What do you have to work with? Maybe growing under a screen is more efficient in your area? I seen people pulling insaine numbers off a 600 w screen. Hope that helps bro

hahaha...i have a huge spot where im trying to talk my buddy into flip flopping...he's sketched about it tho...wonderful idea to maximize your space...

Flip flop is running two rooms 12/12 with one ballast. The ballast runs 24hrs, but switches the load of the light from one room to the other room. You can build your own device if you know what you are doing, but DO NOT try to build this if you don't know what you are doing. HPS/MH produces very high voltage to excite the gases in the bulbs to get running. That is why they use 6,000 volt rated lamp sockets, cords, and everything to go with it. You can buy them also. Here's some random link that I pulled up. I could build you one of these or anything like this that is better for less $$ shipped to your door.

or lets say you are limited to power in a unit...and you wanna run more than just 10 1000HPS..you build two rooms..10 lights on during the day, and when those go off you flip to the other 10 lights in the other flower room. Maximize!!

Yes. Basically a timer will go off and will switch or flip the relay to direct power to another set of bulbs, and when the timer hits the off position the power will divert back to its original set of bulbs. The ballast never skips a beat its on 24/7.

So 2 ballast could run 4 bulbs but only 2 on at a time. And this is why we we're on top of the food chain.

www.nowirenuts.ca has the best flipboxes available. They are not shock hazards like other flips and have louvers and fan for cooling and can be custom built with several options that no one else offers.
