I know it sounds dumb, but I just finished chopping down my first grow. It was kind of sad like losing something. I am going to half water cure and half air dry. From what someone told me on this site she was a Lowryder#2. Anyways, anybody else ever feel melancholy over a plant?

I felt a little sad when I cut down my first plant too. I got over it quickly as I moved my vegging clones into the flower room :D

I can see how people get sad. I was upset that I had to put down a tomato plant due to a bad DWC experience (Pythium). I think it is only human nature to bond with things that you devote time and attention to.

Clones can ease that feeling though

well when I said half, it was more like 1/4th of the plant. I just dont feel like waiting for the normal cure. I also have another plant that isn't ready to be harvested yet. This was my first grow EVER with bagseed and outdoor central Florida conditions. I just wanted to see what would happen. I stalk this site daily to learn and cannot wait until the day comes that I start a serious grow. Late, v-dub

I totally know how you feel. I sprouted two seeds in very early May and they both turned out to be female. I nursed them all the way until the end of October up until a few days ago.

I knew them too. I watched them grow from a tiny seed until they were almost twice my height! I'd go out every day, probably twice just to kinda watch them.

I'm not a spiritual person by any means, but I apologized when I cut them down. The only solace was they were completely unfertilized; they were going to die either way.

Don't worry, it would have died on it's own anyways. You are simply making the best use out of it :D
