oh yea thats a nice little closet, i like how it has a door and everything, mine doesnt cause it is the corner of my closet, so how do you suggest i seal off the room? just by making a door? and putting a board for a roof? cuz i need to figure out where to put an exhaust, i already figuered out which wall im gonna vent thru, now im trying to figure out how to seal it up for flowering =)
Do you mean plywood to seal the gap above the folding doors? If it were me, I would take out the folding doors. They are flimsy and will be a complete nuisance to work around. Best is to frame in the opening with sheet rock on the outside and a real door. You could use curtains. Some people do this for their grow spaces. Usually it requires two sets of curtains. The inner one being heavy black plastic film from the hardware store.

For a light proof vent you can make a baffle box. You probably dont need to light proof the exhaust. Perhaps just the intake vent.

why would i take out the doors? then my clothes would be all exposed and the plants are not even in front of the doors they are in the corner of the closet, all i would really have to do is put a door where the corner begins, and i mean a plywood at the top of the actual closet rod because the light is hanging on the closet rod, too make like a ceiling where i would put an exhaust and vent, maybe the pictures are not detailed on my closet space,

I think the point is that you would remove your clothes and make a complete grow area. Or you could easily build a small grow tent to put in the closet and cun the exaust out.
Check out papabears grow tent DIY tutorial I built one for $30 and am hoping to pull a pound.

you got some perty plants there person ^^
dsection it off into four sections. you could use cabnet doors for the size of each section. top two sections for mother and clones. veg plants with clones. bottom sections for sexing and flower.do septrate exasts (so sexing plants don't pollanate flowering ladies.

This is my first grow im about 2 weeks in. It is a closet grow space that is 24inches x 37inches (2'x3') and it is 65inches tall to the closet rod, but if i cut out the rod the ceiling is almost 9ft (105inches). Right now i have a 250watt ballast and bulbs, 2 fans one oscillating on the plants and one blowing up and out the space above my closet doors. my dad has a 400 watt lamp that he will give me so i might be upgrading soon.

my temp and humidity are good, but the plants are starting to smell, so i was looking at carbon filters and air scrubbers, but i read somewhere that they are pretty pointless if the space isnt closed off, and also during flowering there needs to be complete darkness, so should i make a box, or cabinet type thing? with an exhaust or idk, any ideas or anything to get my mind a jumpstart lol

Thanks

The cabinet wasnt mine, its from some person that was giving me advice that was their closet, but he did have a heat problem so zvuv was right on that, so i guess my thought was to do something similar but the walls and floor would be the closet's walls and floor, so i would basically just be closing off that corner section, taking my clothes out is not and option i got wayyyy to much clothes lol

I use a 400 watt HPS and a 240 watt LED in a closet like yours. I tried a few different ways to light proof and keep it somewhat stealth. I have my card now so stealth isnt an issue for me anymore. But heres what worked best for me, best part is there are no carpentry skills needed :-)

You only need :
Heavy Duty Vulcro, panda film, scissors and duct tape. curtain rod and a curtain

Remove the doors. Buy some heavy duty Velcro and line the entire frame with the velcro.
Measure the door frame and cut to the poly/panda film to fit.
Peel the velcro and stick the film/poly on

I cut small holes to allow for my ducting/ventilation, I have an air cooled hood for the HPS, intake and exhaust for the closet itself. Heres a quick pic I took right after initially doing it, before I cleaned it all up and made it more stealth, but it gives you the general idea. I have the curtain crakes so you can see the exhaust from the HPS.

Heres it is cleaned up and just about stealth,

Thanks but no pic lol,

and idk why everyone suggest for me to take out my sliding closet doors, they are not in the way at all they slide lol putting a curtain would be more work than necessary i just need to exhaust the hot air out and seal that corner only cuz my clothes and everything else is in the closet and i need to be able to open the closet up constantly, but the closet doors dont cover the plants they are in the corner it has a little walk space so the area is surrounded by walls the entrance and "ceiling" is the only thing i would need to make to seal off the room, if you need more pics for reference i can take more

OK I get it now. You want to seal off a small grow space inside the clothes closet. In fact you are thinking of a cabinet grow inside the closet. Is that right? Something like the picture of the grow cab you posted.

I had thought you were going to use the whole closet and that perhaps, in the fullness of time, Hello Kitty would find her way to the Salvation Army store, or perhaps the animal shelter. So I was talking about closing up the main closet door.

In that case your idea of a plywood roof and door makes sense. You probably should attach framing timber to the wall and screw the plywood onto that. 2x2 will be fine for that.

If I understand your plan, the cab has to fit under the clothing rail. This gives you about 5' height. A fairly tight space. People use cabs this size but space is limited and you have to plan carefuly. In that picture, the top 12" or so of the cabinet is used for storage space. I would have used the extra height for the plants.

PS Here's a setup with a 600W in a small cab
http://https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/320402-stelthys-600w-hps-project-new-4.html
The lamp takes up about a 1'. You need about 10" of space under that. The pots are probably 9" tall. So, out of 60" height, you have 29" for the height of the plant. Probably less by the time you add the thickness of the plywood and the supports for the lamp. This will work but you may have to stay on top of the plant growth and do some training. Growing a tall sativa in such a cab will be a challenge.

If you hinge the door, will you have clearance for it to swing open? You might still consider curtains for the cab.

I think you definitely don't want a 400W in a cab that size. I'm sure people do it, but getting rid of the heat is going to be tough. If you make a mistake or dont catch a temp problem in time, a small space like that will heat up fast and cook your girls. You want them around 75F. If they get up to 90F they may go into stress mode and start producing male flowers and pollenate themselves in which case you will get a crop of schwag. The smaller the cab and the larger the lamp, the more difficult it is to manage the heat. My grow closet is about the same size as your walkin and I have some trouble managing the temp with a 600w HPS in there.

Do some searching on this forum to look at other people's cabs. What size lamp do they typicaly use? How much forced ventilation do they need? How do they manage the restricted grow height etc.

Some other ideas to consider:

Think about taking down the clothes rail, partition off the back of the closet floor to ceiling, cut the rail short and remount it on the partition wall. That will give you more height and more air space to work with.

You could also partition the back of the closet with light proof curtains which will solve the swinging door problem and require very little wood work.
