im not in the business of selling pounds so i dont know the exact numbers of a pound. but good to know. soil is fine, its forgiving and easy. but it also becomes a pain lugging empty soil to the backyard for years and running out of places to dump it. much easier to dump a reservoir of water down the drain. and also to bleach and re-use hydroton clay balls as your medium so you dont have to keep lugging bags of stuff into your location. things can go bad fast in dwc no question. before i got my slime under control (when i was trying to run a sterile reservoir) i'd go from healthy plants on track to yield amazing, to a plant that would never recover and only yielding a half ounce under a 1k. now i run microbes in my reservoir and that is a problem of the past thankfully. once your nutrients are dialed in and you're comfortable in dwc theres not much to worry about though.

i dunno i just cant wrap my head around why using a pk finisher would be beneficial.. seems that the only thing that MIGHT make sense is it throws all the ratios off, causing the plant to force finish.. making N not uptake, and micro nutrients not uptake due to high p levels. maybe only in dwc because you can flush fast.

seems it should be more beneficial to the plant to keep a properly balanced full feed until the last 3-5 days. i run all my strains 1 week longer than scheduled anyway, so they're already done by the time i would flush..

also the plant starts uptaking a lot less at the end of its life, so i would think that upping p/k at the very end when they are hardly even eating anymore wouldnt do anything other than just adding nutrients for no purpose.. do you monitor your EC/PPM levels at all? how does the plant eating rate change in the final couple of weeks, and how does the ec levels change when you apply the koolbloom?
When i got the powder kool bloom, the seller was saying basically, it stresses the plant into thinking its dying so it pushes all its energy into one final bud swell. My limited experience with it is the stress isnt worth the bulk. The liquid kb says to use it all of flower and it doesnt stress the plant as bad and seems to help.

I dont keep track of what the ppm's and such are at, i just top off as needed and if things start to turn bad, i change the res and a few days later it gets better.

all my results w/ liquid and powder koolbloom were in side by side testing, and the results dont lie..powder yielded more and faster, wile the with liquid koolbloom, and the w/out liquid koolbloom test w/out yielded the same weight at harvest as with it, well within 5-10 grams...i keep my ph between 5.6 and 6.1 always and ppm starts at 700 week 1 of flower to 1300by week 7&8, but always do a flush for a minimum of 3 days..at week 8 my plants are taking up over a gallon per day that continues through the flush..i have to add 5 gallons to my res every other day so closer to 2 gallons per day being used by plants...

How much of the powder do you use, whats recomended on the package or more, less?

Ive been planning to do a sog with a bunch of small plants to find some good pheno's, i should try some different feeding routines while im at it, see first hand what works best.
