Any one else have problems with Exhale C02 bags?

So I have just started a grow and got a Exhale C02 bag and put it in the tent, just sitting on the floor because my hood is rounded on the top and cant sit it there. I have 4 five gallon smart pots in the room, now after about one week I started to notice a white powdery like substance forming on the sides of the smart pots after my first big watering, odd I thought, maybe salt from the water except I use RO water from one those machines in front of convenience stores and grocery stores, then I thought maybe crushed up perlite from the roots organic soil, but I tasted it to see, and it was salty but also very tangy, more tangy than salty. What gives?
So I started to think maybe its some sort of fungus or mold, the exhale bag is full of it I guess, and I have virtually no humidity in the tent right now. Maybe some spores get out of that bag, and also the substance inside is white as well. So I am wondering if any one who uses these things has had a problem similar to this, or think it could just be related to the Water, smart pots, Roots Organic soil or anything else.
Thanks guys +rep for help

I don't know what's on your grow bags, but your wasting the exhale bag. CO2 is heavier than air. It falls straight to the ground, so it should be above your plants.

I realize that, I have a little fan blowing up on to it to move it around, I'm gonna hang the bag up, except I might just take it out if I decide thats why I have wierd shit on my smart pots.
