Any info on Nirvana PPP or venus flytrap ??

just wondering if anyone has anything good to say about Nirvana's PPP strain, or the Venus Flytrap strain which is PPP x top44.

Im already i big fan of Nirvana. so far the best strain ive had of theirs is Chrystal. which is my all time favorite of strains now.

I have a few of Nirvana's strains already... White rhino, Medusa, White Castle, Chrystal, Blackberry, NYPD, Papaya, the 2011 freebies. and ive smoked a few others like raspberry cough which is a very potent sativa smoke, and the discontinued big bud x northen lights which was a fruity sweet indica strain a buddy of mine grew.

Im interested in the Pine taste and nice mixed high thats advertised with it. also the vigor and high yield are important to me. I also wonder what the differences are between the PPP and the Venus flytrap. its hard to find info on venus...

im wondering if the venus flytrap might actually be a bit better yielder like they advertise. but if so does it lack anything? i know wonder woman is a very similar strain because its Ice x top44 while venus is PPP x top44. top44 is an old discontinued fast flowering commercial strain from nirvana. Wonder woman is very popular here in SE michigan. its a very tasty strain with lots of resin, everytime ive had it its been great even from different growers. so im tempted to give venus a try over the PPP.

anyone have any input they can give for either the Nirvana PPP or the Nirvana Venus Flytrap??? thx so much in advance!

Go for it, I've not grown as many nirvana strains as you but I've been impressed with the pheno's i keep, i should be giving my Bluemystic clones the cut on monday, just cloned them (in late flower... which is bad) so i know the indica dom is a huge yielder that had some root rot issues but i will correct them with my next grow and i might replace it after its 3rd run, this being the second, it has a straight blueberry muffins odor in flower and berry flavor in cure, almost like violets candy. if you wanna try another Nirvana strain, i would say go for the regular blue mystics and hope you get a keeper, i ended up with close to 7 females 2 were more sativa dom that needed staking because of the dense buds but my indy just needs tying up on the main cola's to keep from sagging. showed no signs of hermaphroditism or late term male stamen(0 nanners, 0 Balls), which makes this strain easy to grow and low maintenance.

i think Power plant is one of nirvanas best and most stable. It sure as some great pot in their.

hey man, I tried venus flytrap last year outdoors, and didnt really have much luck, also did nirvana's ak48, ice, wonder woman under same conditions and they did awesome, ice not as well as the other two, but still good. popped like 70-90% of ice, ww, and ak seeds, but vf only popped 2 or 3 out of 10. Of those 2, or 3, (I think 3 popped, 1 died before breaking soil) I got one female, but vf both stretched like crazy during veg, under same conditions as all other strains, which stayed squat and vigorous for the most part, vf was like 4 feet tall when others were 2. Anyways end result from the 1 girl were fat dense buds, maybe 4-5 oz., after being topped twice, which took forever cause she just kept growing up instead of growing new nodes. Maybe it was grower error, but everything else did much better under same conditions, so I don't really think so. and the vf seeds were so big and healthy looking! I was disappointed! just my experience, hope it helps

i've run nirvana's ppp, funny, i've seen a few threads lately on this strain
saw an indica pheno, very compact and thick buds
felt more indica, good but better for the evening, at least for me, some sativa up
resinous as hell

Venus Fly Trap scores high on all fronts except for potency. Easy to grow, 3 out of 5 (feminized) being superb yielders, strong skunky aroma, easy to manicure and just overall a beautiful looking plant, BUT I can smoke this stuff all day long without having the feeling that I need to stop. I've had too much top notch Cali strains that have corrupted my THC tolerance to the point that skunk strains just don't cut it anymore. After using clones from dispenseries and trying other top breeders, I've resigned most of Nirvana"s selection for the beginner, with sights set much higher for the future. Nirvana has a couple of good strains in it's lineup, but overall, they are considered in the "B" league in my book.

i grew ppp and she was a hell of a producer. My first grow in a small SOG and i got at least a oz a clone. She withstood strong nutrient levels and never looked sad at anytime. I wouldn't recommend using there feminized version as i got all hermies after i stressed them very little trying to find a mom for a perpetual. THey had next to no smell during flowering and what they did have i believe i lost on improper curing methods.

Nirvana has one thing right, and its high yielding strains. I have grown their Blackberry sativa and their ICE, the blackberry sativa is a disgrace to the blackberry name, although a few showed true berry-like flavors, almost raspberry: the potency was crap on over 80% of them. i got a keeper mom and made f2's, i currently am selecting parents from these f2's in order to get better potency and smells for the f3 generation. Excellent yields on both blackberry and ICE, the ice had much better potency and similar yields but a lower flowering time, around 9 weeks compared to 10-11 for the blackberry. They used to offer much better selection but now they just have a few good strains and a bunch of mass producer indica dominant hybrids.

I ended up purchasing Venus Flytrap just the other day!! I will let u all know how it goes once i get to pop one! i plan on trying one as soon as i get them! its gonna grow along side Nirvana's Chrystal and a couple other strains... Chrystal is amazing. Blackberry is a good yielder... I actually have a couple Blackberry plants that were labeled as white rhino... they made a mistake. I even grew blackberry before too and have a couple seeds of it left too. HA! lol. Blackberry is a big yielder! NYPD is also a HUGE yielder
I also had an issue on one of my Blackberry plants with the potency... in the middle of the buds the THC had already started to degrade, while on the outside the head were still clear mostly... that u cant really do anything about... but i did have one blackberry plant just a month ago or so that that WAS potent. it still had that issue with the middle of the buds being more mature tho. thats what the issue is.
Ice is an amazing strain. its in a ton of Nirvana's hybrids, it adds taste, potency, structure, and yield. I have White Castle and it is a great strain all the way around.
Nirvana's BEST STRAIN is for sure Chrystal. In fact i bet nirvana's plain old northern lights is awesome too... i grew a NL x Bigbud back in 2004, it was awesome too! the new hybrids yield just as good as that bigbud hybrid did tho, im sure thats why they dont sell any of the bigbud hybrids anymore.
Even Medusa was still a good yielder, and its not known to be one. It had super strong potency too, just like the description said: it will knock you out and turn you to stone.
Nirvana's strains kick ass!

Medusa being a ripoff of Original misty by Homegrown fantaseeds, expect good yields. i miss nirvana's Full moon, i've got 3 germinating now so hopefully i get a nice thai female like last time... the seeds are about 2 years old so they might be bunk but 1/3 germinated after 48 hours!

Nirvana's best gear is stuff they got from other breeders (like Dutch passion, Homegrown fantaseeds, Serious seeds) and bred with themselves. they have nice renditions of other breeders works but dont expect the same quality or uniformity you got from those other breeders.

Would you mind my asking what strains from what seed banks you DO consider time-worthy? (for compass points, I LOVE Durban Poison type effect (at least as grown at my local disp) and Blue Dream like flavors...? But more interested in what *you* would recommend.)

So I have grown a few Venus Flytrap now...

First pheno I got... Omg, no joke. Really really pissed my loser pathetic past friend... PURPOSELY threw out a cut a gifted him.
This one ended up indica leaning.
Really wish I knew if the pheno came more from the top 44 side, the indica in Nirvana's PPP or even a freaky African side of the Nirvana PPP. Shorter than expected, not much stretch, just a bit, comparable to say my blue widow from Dinafem, and less than the few Nirvana's Chrystal I've had and wish I still did, two of those were amazing too, they were always the most talked about at their times.

It flowered fully in 8.5-9 weeks. Didn't check heads that well but I imagine around 15% Amber irdk. So can't fully say. Sry

The buds size was just average, but good and dense. Not small by any means though, just not like a big bud/critical mass type line, at all. Idk why they say commercial strain... Should b med n strong etc.

The smell during growth was freaking insane, I can really only describe as somewhere between my og#18 that's very pungent, and a Critical+ I had that was off the charts with insane skunky stink!

The high and effect were a once in a lifetime type 10/10.
It felp much like how an opioid feels. The peppy pain relieving, happy blanket without sleep unless overindulgence. Much like a true opioid like Oxycodone or Hydrocodone vs a classic opiate feeling of nodding/tied/falling asleep and kinda slowed thinking which more so comes from Heroin/Morphine and Codiene.

It gives you this just ultimate in pain relief feeling too, I have sciatica badly to test that too. Was like a dream, plus all the taste and good growing. One of my favorite plants ever...

I also bred a Nirvana Medusa male with that phenotype thankfully though, although the clone was never returned. What a horrible tragedy, and a very ignorant person. I've grown three and gave away 2 . only got one female myself, was amazing but like original vft pheno better. Just made it more like Medusa.
My friend had closer to the flytrap, both female. I had 2/3 male on my three.

So in short, that Nirvana Venus flytrap phenotype I first grew, from feminized seeds... Was FUCKING AWESOME. got you high as hell and very easy growing. Average yield, but not bad.

Last one I ran was totally different, and no skunk, much more like wonder woman with that sweet side of skunky. High is avg, stretches a decent bit, good hash ratio, good leave bud ratio. A little harsh smoke tho.

Nothing like my first AMAZING phenotype of Venus Flytrap tho. It was so nice.
