i meant stuff like chamomile, catnip, etc. i want something that i can grow here in massachusettes, i can drink as a tea, and maybe smoke to relax?

growing pot is going to be difficult next season(to say the least, just because of my current circumstances)

so basically, a legal plant that i can drink/smoke to relax. i was thinking salvia but i heard its incredibly hard to grow..?

thanks rollitup :D

Yeah salvia is REALLY hard to grow, and I grow all kinds of stuff! But there are some places online that sell the plants-- though they won't ship to parts of the U.S.. Make sure it's salvia divinorum, bc anything else is just going to be pretty flowers, and a nasty buzz.

I've never found salvia to be as relaxing as MJ. There are plants that are hallucinogenic, like salvia, but I can't think of any that you would necessarily be relaxing. Sorry bud, I hope someone else has the info you need. Good luck, cheers.

I grow catnip for my cats. But there have been days I couldnt relax or had a headache that I made tea out of it. It grows in a similar fashion as weed, since it is a weed, and the flowers from it do relax me. I say they relax me, but i dont smoke/consume MJ, but it might not be the same for those that do. I also grow a plant native to Canada that naturally relieves pain, not sure on its legality tho. Best of luck!!

I recently looked into JWA-018-- it's sold in head shops and is currently a legal synthetic weed-like smoke. I'm still on the fence about the stuff, but know people who swear by it. It's not growing a plant, but thought I'd mention it if legality was an issue. Good luck bud.

i once had a bad experience with this only "legal bud" stuff..mixed herbs and stuff. do you know if its the same thing?

Yeah it's the active ingredient in a lot of those blends. It's funny how some think it's great, and others like you have had some rough experiences with it. No synthetic chems for me, I think I'll stick to the real deal. Cheers.

Here are a couple you can try but I would really do alot of research.

Kava Kava - You will have to propagate from cuttings, it does not have the ability to reproduce.

Lemon Balm - Should be readily available from seed.

Motherwort - Should also be readily available from seed.

You might not want to see that.... they arent as patient waiting for the trichomes to fully develop, properly dry & cure etc... If they can get to it, and they catch a whiff they might very well jump in the flower area and go to town.. It COULD happen. Maybe have a decoy plant where you dont mind them executing the plant, and wrecking stuff...

It's sealed off from where they can get too it, no worries. I'm anxious to give it to them, it's over all doing better then the cannabis plant I'm growing! lol very large leaves but no flowers yet, is that something I want to wait for before I hand it over for the slaughter? Never given to my cats not already in a dried and prepaired manner?

Plant some Elephant Head Amaranth somewhere else in the garden so they look at that one instead. http://www.google.com/images?q=elephant head amaranth
Just dont get bud envy looking at the purple elephant nose monsters!! And dont let it take over. I planted ONE a few years ago, and it grows everywhere if I let it. Its a tap rooting plant that is easily weeded out. At this point in the season, they go straight to flowering as soon as the seeds sprout, and veg for a couple days.
