Right so basically i have built a small cabinet to veg 1 plant at a time. Its only a small space. Now this light was an old piece that hung from the ceiling which has been cut down. It has the fittings i need and this stealth set up is having a grand budget of 0.00, Apart from the bulbs. Now, i plan on just using cfl bulbs. As for wiring it up. Is it just as simple as wiring a 13 amp plug to the cable with an inline on and off switch. I don't want to blow anything up and of course i want it to be safe. Any advice would be great.

Many thanks.

The wires a black and red. Sorry for the potato image.

Just put a plug on it and some bulbs in it and it will be fine I did something similar the light fittings were GU10 s and I swapped them out for E14, has never let me down and always comes to the rescue when I need an extra light

ok now on to bulbs. Obviously i need as many lumens as possible. I can only have 3 cfl bulbs, which should i go for? keeping in mind that im trying to keep the cost to a minimum.

I bought some 20w equivalent to 100w I currently use 3 of them and find there's enough light. Look for anything cool white.

Dude get some y spliters and light it up i will have to wait till the lights come on in 6 hours buti will shoot you a pic i have a shitty DIY reflector with 16 cfls cranking on my moving grow 8 bulbs form 1 socket also you want to get the 100w = 23watt cfl bulbs have best lumen per watt ratio if you are only going to have 3 bulbs get 2 daylight and 1 soft white for veg then switch it for flower 2 SW 1 daylight the full spectrum really helps here is a pic i took like a week ago before i redid my ghetto light.

Actual electrician here, please don't use that. for super minimal costs you can get some plastic fixtures and boxes at HD or lowes and wire those up. you can also properly ground them out too.
