i like some old fashioned stuff like the carter family and some hank williams.. iris dement.. some alison krausse.. one guy that i dig lately is daniel lanois - really good pedal steel player.. :)

This genre of music is somewhat new to me. I've always resisted it, even though I'm a country boy, plain and simple. The more I listen to it, the more I really enjoy the music.

Jamey Johnson is good, so is Garth Brooks, Merle Haggard, David Allan Coe, George Strait, and nobody said Johnny Cash. Try some Chris LeDoux. He does country western and cowboy style rock. it may be what you're into. I can copy/paste my iTunes library to get you started
