Supposedly Tangerine Dream, Been thinking about taking a hole saw and putting holes in the bottom of the bucket and placing in a 18 gallon tote. Was thinking the hole from the hole saw would be big enough for roots to go through giving me a little more root room. I would rather not try and traditionally transplant at this point. Has anyone done or heard of this?

good point. i feel like a hole saw all around he bucket would be less stressful, planted in a larger container the roots will do their thing. im also in 2 wees of flower.

I did a transplant from a 5 gallon container into the dirt. If your soil in your bucket gets dry, it should slide right out and the plant will never know the difference. However, I understand the reason for your concern. If it were me I would transplant it, but in the alternative, cut the bottom out and saw a bunch of those holes in it.

Yes as Garden Boss pointed out transplanting in flower will cost you. It cost me 2 weeks but I had to. Anyway if you feel you must dry the dirt out and the just before watering tip over the pot while you are holding the main trunk and slide out into the new container. Then water in with some B1 to help with transplant shock. I also use a little fish emulsion when I water in from transplant.

Good luck on this.

I prefer to do it with a moist root ball. Bang around the outside of the pot really good, tamp the bottom of it on the ground a few times and grab hold of the stock and lift her right out. Just did one out of a 7 gallon and never skipped a beat. The bigger the transplant pot the harder it gets because of the weight.

@TWS I did what u said, couldnt find my hole saw lol. Then i was able to cut the top of the bucket off too. Worked out pretty well dont think I stressed her much, also gave her some superthrive when i watered her in the new home. Post pics tomorrow. Ive heard both when it comes to transplant, dry and wet. I did it dry, worked out pretty good. Ill know next time around to just plant in bigger containers or the earth. I could have gotten away with the 5 gal, but fuck i feel like im holding her back, naturally i dont wanna do that lol. Thanks for the suggestions and input everyone. I usually dont try and be bothersome on here and just lurk in the shadows for answers. Ive learned a lot from the site. Thanks again all of you. And I will post pics tomorrow.

I usually don't transplant during flower.
I know I really didnt want too Thats why I asked about the hole saw. I figured it would have been the least amount of stress. I couldnt find the hole saw though so I cut the bottom out and I was able to pull the top up a little ways to cut it and remove. I just felt that with as much time as we have she should have a little more room. We will see in the days to come. Thanks for your response though.

I try lol I give little tidbits here and there and sometimes ask questions sometimes. I see some get ate up on here for asking questions lol Cant say I agree or disagree with ignorance. Most of the time it isnt called for though. Newb or vet its all a learning experience just like life.
