any advice on new outdoor growers?

hey everyone who may read and/or respond to this.

i'm a first time grower, and i'm experimenting around with some seeds i found while smoking.

more than likely mids seeds, i presumed, i scorched the internet looking for ways to start my growing process.

so i now have two seeds wrapped and folded 2-3 times with two seeds soaking.

i then placed them in a small white plastic cup (used to store fish food originally. sterilized and washed thoroughly) to ensure maximum humidity and good germination. then i placed that cup into a 6"x6" black plastic (cd container) box type thing. there is certainly no way light can try to get into this box.

all places i checked told me to use a very dark place.

overall its been less than 24 hours since i placed them in the paper towels. since then I checked the seeds once at my 12 hr mark. They look like they are coming along. The seeds are rather dark in color with little white tips. almost like a pimple.

now heres where i need your help fellow stoners

i've been heavily smoking now for almost a year. so i know a thing or two about this stuff.

THIS IS AN OUTDOOR PROJECT

A) all the fertilization and nutrition and stuff all seems rather complicated and expensive.

question 1 : alternative fertilizers? homeade ones?

question 2: when should i fertilize the soil?

B) i definitely don't want any shitty weed.

question 3: how and when do i sex the plants? (i have a general idea but actual advice from good growers is very much appreciated.)

question 4: will the female plants produce a high that is somewhat sativa? or will I just get a low indica that will make me really tired and crash-y?

C) i have minimal intent to sell, just a nice supply for myself and friends.

question 5: how much will a successful plant yield in grams/ounces/pounds?

D) i would like to have a successful grow/harvest.

question 6: how long does flowering usually take for 1st timers? (i have read that its usually 8-9 weeks)

thank you so much for reading this and i hope i can get some replies from you guys :]

the answer to question 4 is this. if its indica it will be indica. if its a sativa it will be sativa. You can also control the type of high your getting during harvesting. if trichromes milky and white your looking at a heady light fun buzz. if you harvest when most of trichromes are amber you get body buzz couchlock type high. good luck man and yea just keep reading. Trial and error is the best best pot advice I have ever been given. AND Patience. your first grow is most likely the worst, but dont be discouraged just keep at it.

Q-5-Each and every strain is different when it comes to how much that plant will yield. Obviously the big boy plants will give more yield based on genetics.
Q-6- Flowering also depends on the strain. A strain like northern lights may take 7-8 weeks while another strain may take 13 weeks.

the flowering takes anywhere from 8 -15 weeks man. depends on the strain. since your growing bag seed and you technically don't know what you have, you will just have to go by the trichromes get a 12$ pocket microscope and start checking trichromes when you think its about ready. tricromes have three distinct color variations that chang when harvest time arrives. Clear(too early) Milky white and Amber. you want to harvest somewhere in between milky white and Amber. Remember the more amber teh deeper the couchlock feeling and laziness after high wears away. I like 50% milky and 50% amber personally but its all up to you as the grower my friend.

A) all the fertilization and nutrition and stuff all seems rather complicated and expensive.

question 1 : alternative fertilizers? homeade ones? You could use organics as there is less chance of nute burn (they're more slow-release, where ammonium nitrate, a quick acting nitrogen fert, lets nearly all of it's nitrogen out on the first flush)
I'd recommend organics for a first time outdoor - lower maintenance and less chance of nute burn.

question 2: when should i fertilize the soil? Little and often, start at 1/4 strength of what's recommended or use organic fertilizers sparingly then build up each time you fertilize.

B) i definitely don't want any shitty weed. Who does? =P

question 3: how and when do i sex the plants? I've researched this and most people seem to be able to sex a week or two after the summer solistice. (The longest day of the year)

question 4: will the female plants produce a high that is somewhat sativa? or will I just get a low indica that will make me really tired and crash-y?
Depends on genetics, there will be no way to tell with bagseed. Sativas tend to grow faster and branch out more but that's just a general rule.

C) i have minimal intent to sell, just a nice supply for myself and friends.

question 5: how much will a successful plant yield in grams/ounces/pounds?
Again, it depends on genetics, as well as light intensity, temps, humidity, nutes etc. You're at the mercy of mother nature outdoors but you can expect a better harvest than you would have indoors if you have a good summer.

D) i would like to have a successful grow/harvest.

question 6: how long does flowering usually take for 1st timers? (i have read that its usually 8-9 weeks)

Again, it depends on loads of conditions, including genetics. Like someone else suggested, get a scope so you can check the trichomes.

I hope you found this useful.
