Just really trying to get opinions and advice if any on the Lst and if the ladies are looking fine!

Yeah cfls can and should be within 2 inches of the plant unless its one of those higher wattage cfls. And you can tie down the tips too. If those are hard pots you can drill screws right into each side of the pot to tie down onto.

400 hps I didn't want to go lower I thought I might burn them up but.I'll lower it!

No. Smallest bulbs ive used was 600hps and kept about 10-12" from a plant in veg

Keep CFLs 3-4 inches away from your plants.

I also lowered my lighting I will lower it.a bit more

Didnt know it was hid, use the hand test. keep your hand under it for a minute and if its uncomfortably hot, raise it a ittle.
