one thing i left out is that you will probably want to identify the triggers of your asthma as well (mold, dust, etc), typically they would be things you have an respiratory allergic reaction to. however, this may not be the case as stress, physical stress and other things can trigger it as well. a cup of coffee, mini-thin, or other large amount of caffeine/stimulant can save your life, i have stopped an asthma attack by smoking a cigarette, and for the entire time i smoked cigarettes my asthma was dormant, because of the added stimulants keeping my bronchial tubes open. if you have severe asthma you may want to throw an epi-pen in your car, and home, and possibly the place you work.
