Another "should I harvest" thread

Sorry for making my first post such a common question, but this is my first grow and my first time asking instead of lurking, so maybe you can forgive me. Plus I spent some time taking decent pictures, so you can look at those! Everyone loves pictures, am I right?

I have this little plant I've been growing since April and I'm unclear if it's ready for harvest. Doesn't help that I've kind of lost track of how many weeks it's been since flowering. With my schedule the weeks kind of disappear sometimes, you know how it is. I'll do better next time.

So the plant. It's a Nirvana northern lights. Had some nutrient/PH issues that caused some leaf damage, plus some light burn (probably?). But it's finishing and I don't want to screw up this last part. The pistils look orange and curled, but some are still white and sticking out, especially on my biggest buds up top. That's what has me unsure, since the trichomes look mostly cloudy (to me) and maybe even some amber.

Please have a look and tell me what you think. Thanks in advance!

I say give it another week, preferably 2. Looks like the trichomes are just starting to amber so you probably have a lot of clear still throughout the plant. Plus those pistils look mighty fresh! After 2 more weeks you should see those puppies turn reddish and recede into the bud. Be patient, you're almost there!

Gnarly looking buds by the way. Great work!

Thanks for the advice, that's what I was thinking too. Another week or two probably won't hurt and might do some good, so might as well wait it out. I'll keep an eye on it and go from there.

This thing only looks half, maybe a little over half way done. Be patient and that sexy plant will reward you. I'm thinking 3-4 weeks left.

Really? I was thinking two, tops. Those heads look kinda milky, but the flower looks kinda airy. I guess I see what you mean, about room for swelling, but I'm not sure.

Only reason i know is because I've done a few nirv NL beanz with slightly different pheno's, they can take pretty long and keep putting on weight up to week 10/11. He needs around two weeks once swelling starts and swelling hasn't begun yet.

Cloudy no doubt but no sign of trich degrade on the calyx yet

I like the idea that the buds could swell up more but I wasn't expecting it. The pictures don't do it justice but I've attached some more that show their size a bit better. They haven't grown much in size in about a week.

Here are some more trichome pics from today as well. Also some older ones from the beginning of July, earlier on in flowering. Maybe that can provide a little more context since I didn't keep track of the weeks very well (July was insane :?).

It sounds like I need to keep an eye on it for awhile longer though.

July 1 looks like 2-3 weeks in, its almost 8 weeks in already so yeah mybad, your more then half way done.

I change my answer, 2-3 more weeks and hopefully not longer lol

That sounds good. Thanks again for all the advice. Honestly I can't wait to get this one done so I can start the next grow. So many mistakes and sloppiness this first grow, I can't help but see the wasted potential. Great learning experience though, I have lots of ideas I want to try out now. Will be doing two plants next time of the same strain, so hopefully I can really get it dialed in.

Btw, check the trichomes on the calyx's only. The leaf trichs will mature wayyyy before the calyx's

I'd say 2 - 4 weeks, you still have plenty of long straight white hairs in those pics. Post new pics in 2 weeks and we'll give you another guesstimate. Please don't rush at this point, why waste a few months of effort when you're getting close to a great finisht? It's kind of like dating the prom queen, you've got her starting to fall for your, don't whip out your johnson now and risk her leaving you empty handed, so to speak.
