Been growing under 100w hps and cfl on the side with some mylar. pics aint the best but im thinking of grabbing one of the portable microscopes in a few days.
how long? Long! I see sativa, right? How long has she been flowering? The microscope will help you out but you should wait for that to fatten up a lot before cutting her down. Expect a sativa dominant pheno to take at least 12 wks or so. good luck, it's lookin good!

I'd guess she's been flowering for 3-4 weeks. Probably just ending the stretch and you got a good 6-7 weeks. Just a guess but I'd definately giver a good flush as she looks like shes burning since her leaves are brittle looking and curled under.

make that 5 weeks and 5 weeks left.

the most filled out colas probally need another 4-6 wks while the others need 6-8. the microscope can help your, but if your going to let your plant completely finish b4 harvest then its pretty easy to tell just by looking at it, let me get the pics from fdd's harvesting tutorial

and then i forgot to put the info :wall:
man, im really forgetful today. lol
i've been trimming for 12 hours non stop so please bear with me.

we will start with ripeness. most people say to check your trichromes with 30X magnification. i have other ways. when buds are done they look "done". the appearance of the bud changes. the leaves start to hook upwards and become hard and crispy. the calyxes will swell and the hairs will turn brown. you can see a golden tinge to the bud leaves. this is the amber crystals. they start to turn amber on the leaves first.

not ready..........

ready.......

notice the difference? it's pretty easy to see once it occurs.

I think scope is needed for science not to tell, when the plant is ripe.
As many people have said, plant is ready when it looks ready. And what does mean "ready"? Well, someone will look on trichs, hair, or will count time, but main thing is the smoke - how will it taste, how will it smell, what efect will it be and how long it will last. And everybody likes something different! There is no constant "ready". By experimenting You will find the way You like it the most - and than it will be ready.

P.S Sorry, if I didnt write it correct (my english is bad) or someone disagrees with me, I dont say others opinion isnt right. This is how I see it and wanted to share with it.

Thanks for the feedback : D! This is my 3rd grow... already chopped the middle plant (got about 1 oz and 6 grams dried). im just getting to the point where i wanted to keep most of this for personal but my financial situation isnt so hot if you know what i mean.

Im sure if i cut im a week i will get over a oz and 1/2 from each dried. the buds on one of em still look struck by lighting with some nice crystallazation and there decently firm. each of em are about 30% pistol color change. the second is still looser then a teenage slut but the quanity of the budding sites is nice but the time is just another kick balls.
