Lol, are these pathetic stooges still trying to push this farce? "Above the baseline" that's all you need to see to know its total horseshit. The fictitious, Eco-Loon created baseline that was concocted purely for the purpose of this scam.

Face facts you teary-eyed, sad little lemmings, we're going to continue burning fossil fuels in mass quantities for 10-20 years after the technology that replaces it is perfected. If you're hoping for anything other than empty legislative victories that change nothing, financially punish ourselves unnecessarily and give liberals microchubbies, you're in for a rude awakening.

Baseline...lol. Funniest shit I've read in a while.
The facts are there for you to read or not. Where are you getting your information? It's dead certain you are being fed it from the fossil fuel industry who know the facts but are delaying action. This makes you their stooge.

Fossil fuel industry, just like the timber industry in the Pacific Northwest of the past is due for a shock and I look forward to your crying about regulations that curtail its use just like you wailed about curtailed timber harvests due to the effect of non sustainable harvest of timber of earlier times. Its too bad too. The sooner we put regulations in place to curtail use of fossil fuels, the less egregious they will be. Just like communities that depended on timber revenue are all but dead due to unsustainable harvests of timber, economies will feel more pain later on than if actions are not delayed.

Science denial is all about making more profit for Exxon, stooge.

Regulation raises the energy cost for everyone for everything. Yet you revel when it is increased.

Energy production from fossil fuel is artificially low because the waste products are just spewed into the environment. There is no other industry that doesn't have to maintain a system to dispose of its wastes. When a chemical company pollutes a river, it saves small change relative to the cost to communities and industries downstream. Same goes with what must begin to happen with the fossil fuel waste stream. In the larger scheme, regulations save money.

You did not rebut my statement. I guess we save money when energy costs us far more money. Sort of like Obamacare... It costs trillions to save money...

I wonder how many accountants are liberal... Doesnt seem your strong suit.

Cool conspiracy theory bro, too bad it doesn't line up with reality though..

I want to make you a challenge, this challenge goes out to anybody who denies anthropogenic climate change

We're in May, less than half the year has passed, but if 2016 turns out to be the hottest year ever recorded since records began in 1880 according to NASA and the scientific consensus, you leave RIU forever, no sock accounts, that's it, gone for good. If it doesn't, I'll leave RIU forever.

Should be a pretty quick acceptance unless you're a total pussy like I expect you are. I'll be awaiting your reply

LOL!!!

We only have 200 years of data. I have shown you graphs of geologic time where the average temperature is higher and lower than where we are now.

There is no dispute that the temperature is changing, it is always changing. But you dont seem to hear that...

OK, I know I'm talking to a stupid person and so don't expect a coherent reply from you.

Then take my bet, pussy

Science predicts 2016 to be the hottest year ever recorded, if the science on this is all bullshit, how could such a prediction possibly be made? All a big coincidence?

We've never had this rate of temperature change without a catastrophe like a huge volcano and in those cases, the change was short-term. I haven't heard about a huge volcano, have you?

Other causes of climate change are slow and nothing like what we are seeing.

I know you are stupid and I might as well be talking to my fence. It would be nice if you could be silent like my fence. But its smarter than you.

Read my post again. It could be happening because the earth is in a warming trend. The earth has no steady state so the climate is either warming or cooling.

I have been saying this for over a decade. We only have 200 years of data. Even if we had more there is no promise that the earth's climate is completely cyclical.

And no, I am not dumb enough to agree to your flawed challenge.

He does not understand that..

Nowhere in Earth's history has the temperature risen this much this fast, every other natural rise or fall in temperature has taken place over the course of thousands of years. This current rise in temperature has taken place over 135 years.

At this point I'm not sure if it's genuine ignorance or if they just play stupid so they don't have to actually address this point, it's not that difficult to grasp..

You think we only have 200 years of data?

2015 is the current record, 2016 will break it, and 2017 will break that. 2010-2020 will be hotter than 2000-2010, guaranteed

You are a gigantic pussy with zero strength in your convictions

I have great strength of conviction. You are obviously frustrated and just name calling. Other people including myself disagree with your conclusions.

It's not my conclusion, it's the scientific consensus backed up by more than a century of direct evidence and millions of years of indirect evidence. So much for your "but only 200 years of evidence!" claim!

It's evident this is very far out of your level of understandability

You are proudly holding your conviction tight to your breast and feeling so warm and cozy. So, where do you come up with such conviction? Is it the one graph you trot out showing temperature change over the past 200,000 years? Do you know where that data came from? Do you know how they came up with those estimates of temperature so very long ago? Do you know that the same group of professionals that put that data together are forecasting climate change due to carbon dioxide emissions? You are convinced by one set of data and reject others but you have no rationale to explain why.

We call you stupid because you leave us with no other explanation for your irrational conviction.
