I would like to quote an excerpt from this article: "The majority of the 300 arrestees were released without charges before the legal 14-day mark, but three Danes still remain in custody. The Danish Anarchist Black Cross has been sending prisoners money, socks, and underwear, and forwarding letters from supporters."

all I have to say is.... wtf really?!?! :wall:

I stopped watching the video when the guy said something to the effect of "no longer will we be enslaved by technology". I didn't realize this was a thread about anarcho-primitivism.
On the contrary - the government only hinders technological progress. It would be incredible to see how far we'd really be in this day and age if we didn't have to worry about a governing hindrance.
You seem like a smart guy. If you think that anarcho philosophies = people shooting and peeing on each other, than I'll leave this thread alone. I love the WKUK, too. ;-)

 I did just watch the whole video. Love it ...
Agree to disagree, I guess. I don't view the government as being any semblance of "structure". I view it as an antiquated, dying mass that our society no longer needs.
Maybe I'll vote in the next elections to prevent getting pee'd on! Cheers, brother. :peace:

It can never be so in my opinion.... Humans like structure, order and peaceful living for the most part; i'm fairly certain we could do without big government, but every society has SOME type of structure even if it's just the elders of the village. There's always gonna be criminals and trouble makers, but for the most part, people just want to live and be left the hell alone.

Who is an anarchist supposed to call when you punch him in the face and take his things?

Are there good anarchists and bad anarchists? If so, what do you do about the bad ones?

Let's say I'm living on quiet, upscale cul-de-sac, with my quiet upscale anarchist neighbors, and then one night I wake up to hear the dude next door beating his wife to death.

There's nobody to call, so it's up to me: Should I presume to go over and govern this man's actions?

What you do is: Have the good anarchists get together and select a number of other good anarchists to perform security duties which would be outlined in very specific terms (What they may do and how it should be done.), helping to maintain the peace. These individuals could be referred to as 'peace officers'. Individuals would then need to collectively decide what actions would be deemed 'bad'... Hmm, I wonder where this leads?

You could go over and intervene if you'd like. Wouldn't that seem naturally more logical than calling someone else to ask them to take care of it? :peace:

Anarchy is the only workable system in a comunity of absolute equals.
We are far from that, and it can probably never happen.

Anarchy does not mean destruction and looting it means freedom of other people thinking they know better what you should do and not do., I.e. true freedom.
However we are no more free than we allow others to be, I can't be free from the fear of murder, if I'm murdering people, cause certainly I have to accept then that there would be people who'd want to murder me or my loved ones.

Or enjoy going to a beautiful beach, but take a shit on the sand before leaving, soon I wouldn;t want to go back to stinky beach.
