So my tyrone is curing nicely,I sampled some bud and its a nice heavy indica stone, bud quality id put about an 8/10.I made some mistakes in that grow, that she never really recovered from. The lights did great though, these are dense chunky nugs much fuller than I expected...can only get better from here.

33 days, she would of had 8 even colas but 2 of them grew kind of odd,due to a failed early flower experiment.
Great looking plants. Good job training them. Have you had you're lights long enough to know how they would do maxed out with canopy? I grow so no light hits the floor & am about to get an Amare light, a 450. But I'd love to hear someone's testimony that they can grow a lb. with that light as that's what I get from my 600 HPS. Having a hard time believing any LED light can be ran at half the watts of an HPS & get he same results. Though, i will say from your thread & some others that these lights seem to work well. Have you ever tried to get 1-1.5 gpw with these? I'm aware that's not everyone's goal & some just want quality meds, I on the other hand want as much quality meds as possible. Nice looking plant though.

Hiya man thanks for stopping by as you figured I dont really grow for yield and its mainly just for personal use so I dont worry about it much,I just get a kick out of growing them :).I see the new models are using the 3070 now,so thats an upgrade from my 220,mine uses 2530.im really new to cob lighting so I cant really give you the anecdotal evidence youre looking for but I can tell you the lights are solid/well built grow light and amare has been a great company to work with answering all my noob questions lol.Next grow ill see what kind of gpw I can produce with 1 220 in a perlite hempy bucket.Hid isnt very efficient so you create alot of just heat with them.In some ways I can see that as an advantage, like if you were growing in siberia in rocky balboas training barn. LED is a matter of efficiency I guess you get more useable light and less heat with led for the same watts.Thats how a 400w led can out perform a 600watt hid.You should look into the PPFD numbers for some cob lights(3070) and some hps numbers, they are out there.

This plant is about as dense with foilage as you can get, when its finished I will cut back what fan leaves are left and we will look at the internal bud sites that are nearly completely blocked by foilage.I dont agree that shaded bud sites wont grow,we shall see..

Very healthy indeed. I cut leaves in half to get light. All at once though to get it over with. Looks good!

Update on the sour bubbly in the 1 gallon hempy. This plant is at 51 days from seed, when veiwed from the bottom the interior of the plant looks like its entirely made of bud as all the colas connect together..check it.I think at harvest time ill just nip it off at the soil and trim big fans and dry it like 1 big 3oz bud..:bigjoint:20160201_110851.jpg 20160131_193145.jpg

These interior sites have been shaded by thick fan leaves since the start of flowering.I call bullshit on leaves blocking light.

2016-02-08 10.39.51.png Started training on the new comer,24 carat.

If you want to control upward growth wrapping the terminal shoot so the new growth cant open will encourage side growth.Later once the new side shoots have sprouted, tieing down that terminal shoot will distribute auxins to those new shoots and promote growth of them up into the canopy.Ive had pretty good success with this technique, coupled with a 24/0 veg period to get alot of tops before she freezes into flowering.I probably wont do a large size hempy like this with an auto again, because I germ in my final pot,It took this girl a little longer than I like to get established and firmly rooted to the bottom of the resivoir.Im thinking next time of using a shallower container.

Practicing productive leaf tucking,as my new shoots pop up im tucking leaves under those tops I want taller, while tieing down others. This plant is off to a great start, trying to keep her short and productive.
