Am I Crazy? 12 autos in 2x4x6 tent

So as the title says Am i Crazy for thinking like this? By June 1st i have to have my 2'x4'x6.5' grow tent dissasembeled and pack up due to having a baby and needing the "unneeded" space. So i just ordered 2 Pyramid Auto Purple Feminised Seeds , and a 10 pack of Buddha Assorted Auto Feminised Seeds. I have a 400w system with mh and hps bulbs, a 4' inline fan with a coconut filter, a exhale co2 bag, co2 tracking. So what i was thinking is trying to go out with a bang a get as much possible flower available to me ASAP. I just harvested my last 6 regular plants and am drying them now, wet weight was 24ozs but that doesn't mean anything... only time will tell.

So i was thinking of planting all 12 seeds at one time in 5 1/2" square pots to fit into my tent. Will this be do able in a 2x4 tent and they say the biggest plant could get 3 feet tall, but how much big of a plant could really be grown in 60-80 days? Am i under estimating these seeds?

Please Help these are my first autos so i really don't know what to expect. Any input would be better then this kid at work who is on his first grow and thinks he knows it all:wall:....
Ohhh i just placed my order last night with herbies so i should be expecting the seeds within the next week

Thanks, Starass

You will be suprised by how much they grow in a short period of time. I'm just doing automazars and I had to tie 2 of them down as they just wouldn't stop growing. I'm sure they will fit in your space it wil just be very full by the end stopping the light penetrating the lower bud sites. Also they will not always finish when the breeders say they will mine have varied massively. Some took 76 days others still need 3 weeks. More light would be better as well.

so your saying maybe upgrading to a 600w light would be better, or would you suggest adding cfls, or maybe 2 t5's going verticaly? What would be the ideal number of plants for a 400w bulb?

I thought about using a couple T5 lights vertically in my tent. way smaller than yours, but I think it could help those plants immediately adjacent to the light.

That actually could be the answer to my own question as o add more lighting. I say go for it.

It looks like a lot of reds compared to blues though, so these would be better just in flower I would assume.

Edit: They also sell a blue and white mixture, possibly better for veg. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hydroponic-900-LED-Grow-Light-Blue-White-4-Panel-52w-4-Aquarium-Coral-Reef-Lamp-/141187928999?pt=US_Hydroponics&hash=item20df74d3a7

They don't seem to make 3:1 Blue:Red ratio for vegging plants like I would like. Here is an all blue LED from them too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-225-All-Blue-LED-Grow-Light-Panel-56W-Indoor-Garden-Hydroponic-Plant-Lamp-Bulb-/141190411298?pt=US_Hydroponics&hash=item20df9ab422

I think pot size will help with height. I GREW MY FAST AND VAST in 3 gallon pots and the grow quickly to about 24 inchs and stopped. I have only harvest a small bit of them at this point, like 2 onces dry from the 5 bigger colas, and have tons more to go. I am guessing a total harvest of something around 6 to 8 ozs. maybe more. I would go for it if I were you it seems you have the time to do it. mi9ne will be done at 12 weeks, not the 8 the package says. but I did harvest alittle cause they were ready this is under 432 watts of red and blue t5 bulbs,

Well i just got my seeds in the mail today and i think that i am only going to put 6 into water today. Don't really have any extra money laying around to buy more lights and stuff. My girlfriend is going out of town next week so i'll probably be putting a grow journal up then. I'll post later with which seeds i choose to try out, i'm thinking 1 pyramid purple auto and 5 buddha autos (kinda bummed out on these a little right now because there is just 10 seeds thrown into a vial and not labeled or anything), they say that the seeds are all different,(1 white dwarf, 1 red dwarf, 1 deimos, 1 syrup, and they say 6 seeds of old favorites or new hyrbids soon to come out) but i would have liked to know what is what.
But good info on those lights and i like to see new ideas that are out there, maybe in my next place i can have a bigger area to dedicate to growing my medicine.

So you think in 1 gallon sqaure pots plant all 12 seeds? Do you think that only a 400w HPS will cover that? my tent is only 2x4, how big is your growing area?

So i already made my decision 6 plants, and i put them in water last night and 3 of them cracked and the other 3 were about to so i put them in paper towels and will be watching within the next day or two to see roots. 1 purple auto and 5 Buddha auto from the assortment pack. now my next decision what type of soil? how do autos fair in supersoil? That is what i had my last grow in and i think everything went great with that, but will the seedling be able to sub stain the nutes from a supersoil right off the get go? I also see people growing autos in miracle grow and it working because the nutrients in the miracle grow get released later on in the growing cycle? I have Jiffy Pellets that i plan on putting the seeds into once i see roots... Any suggestions?

From experience: yes you CAN do 12. No you shouldnt do them all at once. Youll yield the same.off 6 as 12 in that tent because of over crowding. So to double production run half and half. Personal suggestion. I have 19x in an 8'x4' tent... BUT ALSO have 42x in a 4'x4' section of a closet....

Go with 3 gallon grow bags so you keep as much floor space as possible and run your plants 2 deep x 3 wide so that you fit 6 comfortably. .

Sorry if I repeated anyone. Just havent put an effort into helping anyone out in a while and figured I'd start doing it again.

Ok well i started 6 seeds 2 days ago and all have sprouted, in a couple hours in the morning after i do some stuff around the house i'm going to get them into jiffy pellets to get the roots going, my next question is what kind of soil does anyone recommend?

So decided not to go with the jiffy pellets and went straight into 3 gal fabric yeild pots with a mix of 1 bag root organics, tga supersoil 25%bag left over from last grow, and a bag of tga base soil. gave them 1 gallon of water each for their first feeding with some vermi T compost tea. i'll take a picture of them once they start to pop the soil. when i put them in the soil all 6 seeds had at least an inch root tail growing already, and 1 of them already had lost the outside seed casing

Glad your all up and running. I always use coco coir to grow in because I've got complete control of the level of nutes I add to it. Seedlings don't tend to like soil with nutes in but that will become clear in the next week or so I should imagine. Fingers crossed you will be all good. Best of luck.

So all 6 have popped out of the ground within the last 2 days and are enjoying there light, i had to help 4 of them find the light because i think i might have planted them a little deep but they are all enjoying it and starting to grow. for the soil, i have the roots organics on the top 1/4 soil of the pot and i have the super soil mix in the remainder of the pots, my hopes on that is that the young seedling can nourish in the beginning weeks in the organic soil and then grow into the supersoil. Any thoughts on that? i still have to figure someway to get my pots off of the plastic bases that i have them on to collect the water. i have heard of people putting bamboo sticks to lift the pot up a little, but i will try and find something laying around the house or at work that they can spare. The soil seems pretty damn still, so i am going to hold off on watering for a couple of days, but i will be taking some photos and creating a grow journal within the next week.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
