if it smells loud huh? lol, well...got a lot of reading to do man, you should hit up the FAQ section and read as much as you can. doesn't matter voltage, it's about wattage and if it's a halogen flood light it's not worth your effort. Fish tank lights, also depends on what kind they are. is it HID (metal halid or high pressure sodium?) or is it t-5 fluorescent lights? if so they might work, but if they're old you'd be better off going to walmart and grabbing about 4 Compact Flourescent lights that you can use in any lamp socket. if smell isn't an issue you dont really need a box, you just need proper lighting. if you're serious about it, i'd invest in a decent HPS or MH/HPS fixture around 250 watts or 400 watts. i wouldn't use your best seeds the first grow, i'd wait til you're comfortable growing and then use the good ones! goodluck, and Read the FAQ and search the forums, they're full of info.
