So I have my room almost done..10'x7'x7' framed with therma- board walls-two 1000wt switchable sun system vented ballasts( I have two MH and 2 HPS bulbs)- 6" vortex exhaust - I haven't picked up the 6000 BTU window ac yet I am waiting to see the temps first-I am haveing a seperate 220 breaker installed Friday- I am picking up two 4'x4' tubs and 12 10 gal smart pots tomorrow along with the coir coco for the medium- I am picking up the 12 clones this saturday at the Lake County Farmers Market, strains will depend on what is there.

Here is where I am un-decided- I am trying to figure out the drainage. I can't decide if I should raise the tubs up off the floor a couple of inches ( maybe with 2x4s)and to put hoses on the bottom to drain or to use a pump in each tub. I have a drain I could connect to for the gravity drain. I am also thinking about using a reservior and re-using for a week at a time. I am not doing a hydro grow- I just want to remove excess water after watering.

Any ideas would be great.

Ok don't everyone answer at once..
I actually want to add another question that has come up.. should I go with smaller pots given I will only have 12 plants and about a 5' high growth capacity?

go gravity/ pumps for each tub can get expensive ps make sure you pre-rinse your coco no matter what. trust me on that one the ph can become a freakin nightmare. 10 gals are huge. might think 5gal or smaller. flower early, i got some 6 ft bitches in flower, never again without serious topping and lst. are you gonna do a journal? I'll subscribe Good Luck Peace

Hey Quitar,

Thanks for the advice...makes sense to not make it harder than it has to be right? The lady at the hydro shop said her coco was organic and didn't need to be flushed, but everyone on here seems to say the same thing..so I will flush just to be safe.

I am wondering if transplanting my clones to coco will shock them at all. I haven't bought the clones yet, but am looking at some large deisel clones in 3 gal pots. Do you know the best way to trasplant these to coco or should I continue to veg in soil? I am using my flowering room to veg with 2x1000w MH.

Yes I will start a journal as soon as I get the ladies.
