Almost done w/ Flower, Fan Leaves hurting...any ideas?

Hey all, I'm gonna make this short...I started this plant outdoors a little late and ended up moving it indoors under my HPS 250w about 1 month ago. I would say it flowered outside about 2 weeks, not exactly sure.

I'm noticing the leaves have turned from nice green to yellow/green and some are all yellow. Some parts of the leaves are also dying, not many of them show this, just a few. They are crispy/dry to the touch.

Is there anyway I can speed up this lady to harvest? I'm just concerned that the plant is possibly really slowed growth right now due to the leaves and how they are. I have been giving nutes but maybe they were not introduced early enough into the grow, there were also some heat issues in the beginning but nothing now of concern.

Thanks in advance for your help! :bigjoint:

if its in flowering its normal for the bottome leaves to yellow out
I know this however it's not just the bottom leaves, all of them have turned like this. The bud itself does still look really good.

Any idea on how much more time she looks like she'll need?

The plant is killing itself making you some nice bud. you need to look at the trichomes. Microscope or jewelers loupe will help you tell how amber the trichs are. The more amber, the more your ass weighs when you smoke her. Nice plant btw.!!!

Yeah, let's just hope she doesn't kill over before she's done doing her job! :bigjoint:

Alright follow-up...

I have checked her now and leaves are for the most part all yellow and extremely dry to the touch. They feel like they would crumble if you squeezed them. All hairs are still white and haven't started receeding at all into the bud. I haven't got a loupe yet but plan on doing so tomorrow am.

Any other suggestions about the leaves turning so drastically yellow?

Thanks Moash, I got a 15x magnifier today. It's not the best but it gets me a better look. I can definitely tell they are not turning amber yet, they are all either cloudy or clear or both. I will give it another week and check again.

i still feed about 250 ppm molasses during "flush" to keep extra density in buds.
What exactly is the molasses for? I have never had to use it for my plants but have wondered what ailments it cures for plants...can you tell me?

I personally have only used certain nutes so far and have had no major issues.

I got home and most if not all fan leaves are dried up now and done for. I have never had them die all the way while still in flower. Are the leaves protruding from the bud still enough to keep plant sustained for another week or two?

I also just flushed it tonight with a gallon of water only.

Not without a healthy set of leaves. I betcha you've been using a bloom food, eh? They are always deficient in N (except for Jack's Blossom Booster) which induces the symptoms you speak of. I'm able to keep leaves until the end, that should be your goal. Using molasses is in vain, flushing will only speed up your leaf necrosis. If the leaves are also crispy to the touch, it suggests you've fried them with a food that is too high in P or K or both.

Your bud leaves do not produce enough photosynthesis to produce good flower development. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'd write this one up to experience....hard lessons learned, but ones that I've been preaching for many years. Here's a ditty I wrote on the subject of abusing your plants with high P foods:

A common mistake for growers when they reach the flowering stage is to start hitting the plants with a high P fert like 10-60-10, continuing to use this blend exclusively, and when their plants start experiencing a deficit of N or micros as reflected by the dropping of lower leaves and chlorosis, they wonder why. Plants flower as a response to long nights, not because of fert blends high in P. A ratio of 10-60-10 is WAY to high in P. The plant will only take what it needs and compete for other elements that may be more important at the time.

You may have heard that too much N can inhibit flowering. No question about it, exclusive use of a plant food that is rich in N such as blood meal, a 5-1-1 blend, or ammonium nitrate may inhibit flowering especially if the phosphorous level is low, but most balanced blends have sufficient amount of P to do the job. Manufacturers/horticulturists will give you element analysis and what effect the elements have on plant growth, but remember this does not necessarily mean you will get better yields. Using a high P fert exclusively during flowering can actually work against you. It's an abundant amount of healthy leaves going into 12/12 that produce a lot of bud, not high P ferts.

I rotate fert blends as the plant *requires* them, not because it is "the thing to do." For example, when your plants are going thru the stretch phase during early flowering, they may need more N, especially if you're getting some yellowing in the lower/mid leaves. Give up the cannabis paradigms, and give them what they need. Go back to mild high P fert when the stretch ends, maintaining the foliage in a healthy state of growth until harvest for maximum yields. A 1-3-2 blend such as Peter's Pro Blossom Booster, 10-30-20, is one of the best flowering blends on the market because of several factors - it is higher in nitrate N and Mg. It is sold under the Jack's Classic label. An added benefit of Peter's blends is their use of high quality, very pure salts that will cut down on root burn.

Good luck,
UB

Thanks Uncle Ben! Well last night I went ahead and flushed it with 1 gallon of water. I did the same thing today and am pulling the plant tonight. Eventhough she's not done, I'm gonna try and dry it out to see what smoke, if any, I can get from her.

Anyone have any ideas on curing for this situation? I just want to make the best out of a shitty situation...any help is appreciated!

Any ideas people? ^^^^^^^
If you only have chunky buds the clip them from the stems, put them on 1/4" hardware cloth with a fan on them, let dry until the bud stems bend bu do not snap, put in plastic baggies or jars and "burp" the jar at least once a day to release excess moisture.

If you have say...... 24" colas, then hang them upside down on coat hangers, hang in a closet, put a fan on them and go from there. Folks like romanticize "the cure". It's no big thang......just slowly dry them sons-a-bitches and store in a dark, cool place like a fridge.

Good luck,
UB
