Almost 400 Plants and They Left Us Here?

OK, here is a good one for you all... Yesterday morning I was awakened with a loud pounding on the door. Pissed off at being awoken and the loudness of the knock, I answered the door. Any guesses who it was? Monterey County Sheriff's office deputy's with a warrant to search my home. I informed them that I have prescriptions to cover all of the plants I have, and that I contract for a local club. After 5 long hours in handcuffs watching them destroy my garden, and carry out I guesstimate about $12,000 worth of equipment, and close to 400 plants ranging from 2 weeks till harvest to clones ready to be planted that day. They also found paraphernalia from another habit, the bastards even took my phone! They said I would get my phone back after it was downloaded, but we all know THEY LIE and now when I called to see how to get it back, I was told I can't have it back. They told me repeatedly that I would be going to jail, then they told me it was my lucky day and they left leaving my room mate and I here. I figured they might come get me today and, they haven't. What the heck happened any thoughts people?
So, has anyone else out there been through this?

That's one of the most bizarre things I've heard. On one hand it sounds like you got jacked, but it doesn't quite make sense.

They can't take your shit and not charge you or write you a receipt for what they took. It they take your shit without doing that, that usually means they are ripping you off. But I've never heard of a cop getting a warrant to rip someone off. Usually they like to fly a little more under the radar than that. Something isn't right.

Was it just 1 or 2 cops or did they have backup? Are you sure they were real cops and/or had a real warrant? If so, IDK. Never heard of anything like that happening. Something isn't right. I'd get the fuck out of there. Time for a vacation.

Yep this is how it has happened to a friend of mine. Get a lawyer. Also they will be back with an arrest warrant.

At least that how it played out for my boy.

Once again, ladies and gentlemen.. boys and girls... this is another prime example, as to why you should ALWAYS, ALWAYS! ask who's at the fucking door before you decide to open it. If you have a peep-hole, PUT IT TO USE! I mean, how dumb can you be?!?

I mean, it would be like for example.. let's someone has 50 plants for example, and they see a cop parked outside their house or something.. and that person decide to go outside and invite the popo in for a nice cup of coffee/tea. I mean, you might as well just call the fucking jail and have them fluff the pillow for ya.. and leave a mint under the pillow. Just ignorance at its best IMO..

I've got hidden external camera's that protect the entire perimeter of my house. Doesn't matter which way you try to come in.. your going to be seen and be caught.. and possibly shot. Not only do I have camera's.. but they're night-vision camera's as well.. so they see great in the dark. I also have hidden 'trip' sensors.. that I have hidden on the outer-perimeter of my house.. which if anyone would happen to beat my camera system.. the 'trip' sensors would get that person pretty quickly. I've spent alot of money and time on my security system because I've had my house broken into before.. but all it took was that one time to make me go Rambo on my house.

It's paid itself off many times over too. I've had the security system for the past 2 years.. and in those short 2 years of using it, I've caught quite a few people doing weird things. I caught the little punk teens down the street.. trying to egg my house one night. I didn't even let them know I seen them.. but I got them back. Let's just say they haven't messed with me since that night. ;)

But yeah, people... use common sense. I realize some of you don't have a bit of common sense.. but use what you have.. if you have any at all.. and don't just open the door to just anyone. You should ALWAYS ask who's on the other side of the door before you open it.. ALWAYS!

Good luck to ya man, your going to need it.. and your not going to get your stuff back. Once they've seized something, they RARELY ever give that property back.. 90% of the time they auction it all off.. and those auctions sell high dollar shit.. for like pennies on the dollar... which makes me sick quite frankly.. but eh, what can ya do eh? Nothing.. just ride the storm out.. that's all you can do.. and just hope for the best.

peace.

So in response to some of your questions, they were without a doubt real cops. There were Sheriff's and CHP officers which I thought was weird, there must have been 15 of them. I called the sheriffs office yesterday to find out about the phone and I got the number from the Internet so it was real cops. They did list what they took on evidence reports.... several of them! First they had said that I could get my phone back after they downloaded it, then when I tried I was told that I was given misinformation and that I would not be able to get it back. It almost killed me watching them rip my babies out of the ground and bundle them in 10's. I had Blue Dream monsters outside already 7 feet tall! I also forgot to mention that it is Monterey County, CA. I am covered by the scripts from the club and I imagine that is why I did not go to jail and neither did my helper. I want to go get a growers license from the state and put 99 more out and post what it is and who it is for. I was reading the guidelines for numbers and other things and I kind of feel like maybe I should go to the Sheriff office and tell them who I am and what I am doing......I said almost want to, I don't know. And as for the post that said to get a security system, ahhhhhh, the biggest and bestest security in all the world would not have kept that battering ram out! From what I have seen, if they have a warrant, they are coming in one way or another. I am trying to operate legally, I am not trying to hide it . I am covered by legal scripts. I appreciate all the input from you guys, please keep the thoughts and ideas coming. I will be consulting MMJ lawyers today because I too think they will be back!!

Yeah, lawyer ASAP. There is no such thing as being covered for 400 plants. They'll be back.

Did you miss the part about them having a warrant? That usually means they're coming in whether you answer the door or not.

Jerry Garcia explains it better than I do.

I'm I the only not seeing that anywhere in the OP?

From what I read, they showed up with a warrant.

Where's everyone getting this whole invited in thing?
Yeah, not inviting cops in when they have a warrant = they come in anyways and you get to buy a new door.

What doesn't make sense is why they didn't make an arrest right there.

Cannabisguru went off on some big rant talking about get a security system and dont be stupid. Seerpais posted a link to one of cannabisgurus threads where he is talking about how he let the cops in his house and the cop asked about a smell. Check the link in serpais's reply. Way to go off on a rant after doing it yourself guru! LOL!

Your an asshole you know that?

I don't mean to scare you more than you probably already are, but get a GOOD lawyer.
It sounds like you have a little money; you might as well spend it on litigation now and forget growing for a while. The reason they probably didn't arrest you is because California doesn't persecute growers aggressively, but the United States government does.
@everyone
GROWING WEED IS ILLEGAL, EVEN IN CALIFORNIA. DON'T LET THE SO-CALLED 'COMPASSION LAWS' LULL YOU INTO A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY!
The government doesn't like when you grow more than 99 plants anywhere. And if your so big-time, you need to really reconsider whether you need to be advertising yourself on a public forum where it's obvious cops are watching. Sites like this are dangerous for growers, especially big-timers, and 400 7ft plants is big time.
Sorry about you sit man. Really really sorry..... Please be safe and get some protection man. your only friend ATM is a lawyer.

Are you in California? Not really my business, but I was wondering because I always like to know how close this stuff hits to home. We go with locks on the tents with all copies of paperwork hung outside the tent, just in case. I would be a sad man if this happened to me. Best of luck and let us know the outcome!

any thoughts on how this happened?? Did a lot of people know about your grow? Neighbors call about smell? were you growing out doors and people could see it?

For all you guys growing legally or illegally you can not tell anyone. Sure it is satisfying talking shop with your other grower buddies and giving tours of your shop to close friends, but is it worth losing 30k on lawyers, thousands in equipment and possible jail time??
