The OnehitDone Lettuce crisper is running low and it is time to restock so I'm throwing together another side by side while I'm at it.
Time to take a step back and reestablish some baselines so here we go.
The old trusty HydroFarm 100W Mini Sunburst with a Philips CMH lamp vs debatably the hottest 65 watt led currently on the market - the HLG 65.
So join on in for the ride! :hump:

We'll just call this day 1.
Did a little thinning of the herd the best I could this early on.
Interesting note is that the MH plants seems slightly more robust at this stage fresh out the gate. Will see how that progresses :peace:

Day 14 update 2 days early since I gotta bail
The center plant on the MH side is a runt cause I accidentally snipped off the one I intended to keep when thinning

So how's the new exhaust fan treating you OHD? Any thoughts so far?

Can't find the old thread for some reason

So far so good and no complaints. I have it mated with the Terra-Bloom 8" carbon filter as well.
I also picked up the 6" version for another area.
I will say the ducting they are selling is a bit cheap and not fully light tight even but it points the air where it needs to go. ;)

Sound level? Muffler necessary?......... Longevity/reliability is everyone's worry with these Chinese DC motors, fingers crossed it holds up.

Just got back after 4 days out of town
I have never had a HyperFan for sound comparison but I would say these are similar to a Vortex etc in sound level on full blast. They move a lot of air!

is it me,, or do the bulbs win everytime?
Not 100% drawing a conclusion till the end. One thing I have noticed with led's in general thus far is that you get a burst of root growth at the beginning. Maybe the led plants will take the lead from the back of the pack by day 30? We will see. :peace:
