i lived in nome for a few months. it was years ago, but it was completely different than anything i had ever been around before. it was a complete culture shock for me. i lived in tx my whole life. the coldest it ever got was like 20 something, and that was baaaad. when i stepped off the plain in AK. it was like 2,000 below 0. so cold my left nipple popped off my chest and rolled into a snowbank. havent seen it since.
honestly it was kinda neat to live there. they have some strange ways of doing things, and some crazy ass food. (stay away from the seal its yuck x 100). where are you thinking about going up there?

Alaska is the shit. I lived in Anchorage for about 7 years. Any possesion of marijuana is ok as long as it's under 36 grams. Also, no smoking in public, only the safety of your home, or someone elses. You can also have up to 3 plants without getting fucked with(Feds can, but not alot will make the trip to Alaska for the minor busts).

P.S.- Alaska livin' is easy. Just gotta have a jeep with tire chains, and you're good to go. Summers were on average 70-80 degrees F. Coldest it got when I was there was like -15 or something. Go up North boy, lot colder. Does suck going to bed at 11pm with the sun still up though.....

lol also, good luck with the daylight savings bullshit too.... lots of people who aren't acustom to it usually develop some kinds of psychosis while it happens. Made me an insmoniac fer a few years...

i work third shift, so i sleep during the day anyways. been doing this for over a year now and i'm fine with it. just hafta black out my windows so that damn sun shit doesn't keep me awake :)

i had heard the laws were a bit more relaxed there than on the mainland, which is part of the reason i'm contemplating the move. anyone else have any alaska experience?

Yeah. See, it's laws are loosely like California, and a few other counties all-over the states, a little different in ways. However, the Feds just don't fuck with Alaska like the others. If they do, there's good reason(300+ plants).

Here's Normls state laws for Alaska(says weed is like a traffic violation when in court):
Alaska - NORML

Some of it is a bit harsher sounding than it really is. Basically don't be near a school(but if you're in your home it may be ok....), don't have more than a QP, and under 25 plants. Follow that the locals won't fuck with you if you're caught. The feds can fuck with you for your first joint, but they just don't wory about the small BS in general, aznything to them that's big enough to waste the resources is much higher than a QP and 25 plants. Hell selling in small weight(under an OZ) is just a misdemeanor.

theres not much to do

You lived in AK all your life and that's what you say? Hah! I'm moving to Anc on the 29th and I have enough activities to do up there to keep me busy til I'm in the box, guess you're not the nature type eh? Don't let anyone tell you there's not much to do in Alaska, they're wrong. Next summer maybe we'll have a rollitup cruise planned... :eyesmoke:

I wonder what the cost of living is there. How much is a cheap home or even apartments? Can you live in two states at once?
