Today is day number 34 for my ak47 lowryder plants. I am using two 85w cfls one red spec one blue spec, also 4 14w red spec cfls, and 1 right now but fixing to be 2 42w red spec cfls. #1 which was the first to sprout is looking like a fucking bush right now. #2 started about a day after #1 and didn't even start growing roots until about the second week she really had me scared. I am also using hydro set up not soil. plants look really good as I said #1 shows no sign of heat damage but #2 does. comments are welcome please no rude ones though.

Anybody with any feedback let me know please..... I know they look a little short but hps will be coming soon really in my opinion the cfls are good but not the best they create as much or if not more heat than an hps I have learned through trial and error. I was battling super high temps at the begininng of the grow with temps reaching 93 degrees with just the 6 lights running and then I just added one of the 42w's b/c of the heat issue

your leaves don't look healthy...

what kind of water are you using? if it's tap water, are you letting it sit out for 24h so the chlorine can evaporate? the leaves look bleached..

I believe those leaves show magnesium deficiency. Not sure where in the GrowFAQ I found this, but ya, other than that good luck and happy growing.

Ya see I thought they looked weird ummm I know the curling is from the heat but I know how that happened. Ummm no I didn't think to leave the water out for 24 hours but I do only use one 1 gallon pitcher to fill the res. The Ph of the water is perfect so thats why I'm using it. When they were much smaller the bigger one #1 had little red spots all over her leaves even before I started the nutes. I thought it was a little bit heat cause they were also curling up at the tip. As for the magnesium def. I add 6 teaspoons of epsom salt every time I change the res out. Which is once is a week. Next time I clean it out which will be this thursday I will try and figure out some way to let all 6 gallons sit out for 24 hours. Oh one more thing purple stems on some of #2. If I'm not mistaken I think that would be a nitro deff but I don't know.

Ok so I am going to try the sitting water out for 24 hours I am going to change the res tonight when I get off work I got close to six gallons but I'll just sit some more out and just keep filling it till its full with the distilled water. #1 is still looking WAY better than #2 I guess she is recovering slow from the heat damage.

Oh no when I went to change the res out today I found a bunch of these little black bugs all over #2's roots!!!! They was only two on the #1's roots I cleaned off all the bugs I could find on #2 but I don't know how much damage I did to the roots. I had to like scrap them off of the roots. Hopefully its not to bad. I'll be checking the roots every so often to see if they are coming back. If they come back I think I'll have to cut down #2 I don't want those little things on my good plant!!!!! Somebody give me some feedback what do I do?????

I agree, looks like EARLY Mag.deficiency , keep a look out for the tips of the leaves looking like they are scorched and curling UP, also , look for scorched / rusty looking areas .
You can add a couple teaspoons of Epson Salts to a gallon of water , or spray the leaves with a 2 % solution of ES. Good luck.

Ok well when I changed the res the other day I added 8tbs I don't know if that is tablespoon or teaspoon but I figured since 4 of those wasn't working I would double it. And yes it starts at the tips of the leaves and then travels to the base of the leaf. So I think your right on that one. I am going to take some pics after this post and upload them. Thanks LOU for the answer on the leaves

New Pics They start with #1 and then to #2 which you can still see the heat damage. Veg growth has slowed way down so I think those nasty leaves are going to stay unless it gets a little bit taller. but also you can see the roots that I found the bugs on I pretty much got them all I keep checking like twice a day and when I find any I just scrap them off. Nothing like before

Ph is 6.0 lights are close enough they generate alot more heat than you think they reach the top of the light about every day. Or I have to move the light up every day because they are within one inch or less of it. Ph is good. I don't understand the mag. deff. the first accutal grow I did which I have pics of the leaves looked nothing like that and I vegged for a month and a half and then changed to 12/12 only to find out that they were males though so thats why I'm counting this as my first grow.

Ya I got two big tower like osiclating spell. fans and then a shop fan at the door to blow in fresh air. I leave the door open all day. Its in a spot of the house that no one goes into but it used to be the garage and when turned it into a really nice room but the house is concrete and it those rooms are part of the ac in the house so during the summer here in Florida those rooms almost bake so I had high temps from the get go even with all three fans on and door open still was reaching 90 F.

I think the plants are acting well to the mag. I put in the res I think I might up it a little bit more. Most of the browning at the tips has stopped but like I said veg growth has about come to a halt So I wont be able to get anymore really big pretty fan leaves. The buds I am noticing are starting to put on a little bit of weight. The leaves right next to the bud sites are getting really sugary which is a good thing. I only have like 29 days left and counting. I want a pretty good harvest but as of now I'm really iffy on that one.

Today is day 42 for the two little ladies in the pics. Buds are starting to tighten up veg growth has come to a halt which is exciting, although I wish they would've gotten a little bit taller. Plants are looking much better now that I added the epsom salt. I think it took about 20 tablespoons or something to my six gallon res. Also next grow I have a different set of nutes picked out. Ive been hearing alot of not so good things about stealth hydros nutrient setup. As well as the magnesium problem. I am going to go with the technaflora recipe for success. And does anyone know where to get an inexpensive ph/ppm meter only ones I could really find were like 150 and up and I don't have that kinda of money for a freaking pen meter. As normal pics start with #1 and then go to #2 you can still see the heat damage on #2 from about two weeks ago. Thought it wouldve went away by now but I guess it was to late for any more vegatative growth.

have you flushed your plants? still looken cooked. I would not recomend the recipie for secuess(or atleast not by itsself), i used it in my last grow, three plants of good genetics and they seemed lacking in every area high, taste, smell. they do work my plants were huge(avatar pic), but the left over nutes i gave to a friend, going organic soon...........................just my opinion

Whats going on greenfire....

I also do hydro myself, and yea the leaves do look a bit deprived. One thing i've learned from my growing using a hydro system is h20 is ur best friend when something goes wrong lol. This is just my opinion, but early on when i'd have problems was to top off the res with water. Or in ur case, u could prolly flush next time u change the res for 2-3 days to see if the leaves recover and get their green color back. They should. These plants can take alot! They're not going to grow up anymore though, all the energy you can see is going towards the buds which im sure is making you :-)

By the way, what type of nutes did you say u were using again? And me, i dont use a pen either. never have, and dont need it honestly. I've never really had any major problems with my dro system and I love it! Keep it up though dude, i'll keep checking in
